RIP James Gandolfini

TMZ reporting he died of a heart attack in Italy today. HBO confirming.

Tony Soprano was one of my all-time favorite TV characters. He was a good actor.

Sad to see him go at the ripe age of 51.

Horrible news. RIP T

El Guapo 06-19-2013 05:15 PM

Terrible... RIP

Slim Whitman also died today at the age of 90...heart failure I believe they said.

baja 06-19-2013 05:33 PM

Fifty one! Damn that's young. Should make all of us renew our appreciation for the gift of life. It can end at any moment and that is a sobering fact that we all lose sight of in the process of doing life.

Dr. Broncenstein 06-19-2013 05:39 PM

Terrible. One of my favorite actors.

RhymesayersDU 06-19-2013 06:29 PM

Pretty sad, way too young. Sopranos will always be my favorite TV show of all time.

broncosteven 06-19-2013 06:35 PM

Holy ****! He will be missed, he was just about to bust out on the big screen he has been in some great movies recently and I was sure he was going to be in even more bigger and better projects!

RIP

Rohirrim 06-19-2013 06:36 PM

Sad loss. One of my favorites.

bronco militia 06-19-2013 06:43 PM

Momma mia! :(

Man-Goblin 06-19-2013 08:59 PM

Totally bummed. Been watching a lot of the re-runs lately on HBO. RIP.

broncocalijohn 06-19-2013 09:28 PM

Take care of yourself is what most can take out of this death. RIP

Yes I agree. Even with modern medicine, nothing is for sure. Best bet is to eat right and exercise. I don't think he did much of either.

Same here! Every day at 6 they run a Sopranos episode on HBO2. I've been watching the series all over again.

Hamrob 06-20-2013 06:06 AM

Man, that sucks! No one should die at 51! Cancer and Heart disease need more and more attention. We can clone people, but we can't find a cure for cancer! Come on man!

Quoydogs 06-20-2013 10:15 AM

R.I.P. Tony. Sad day

Durango 06-20-2013 12:09 PM

Man, what a terrible loss to acting. Hard to believe he passed at 51. There have to be hereditary factors here, even though he didn't really tend to his health. Loved the guy and will miss his talents.

baja 06-20-2013 12:28 PM

I heard an interesting interview this AM. The writer of The Sopranos was saying how much of a toll the roll of Tony Soprano took on James' health. He said the roll was unbelievably stressful on him. Noting he had to work up that rage every day on the set.

For those of you who haven't, I would recommend watching season 5 of the Sopranos.

That's the best season of a TV show I've ever seen.

Los Broncos 06-20-2013 12:57 PM

Pretty sad, I liked his small role in Killing Them Softly.

No, Watch the whole thing. Best series ever.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be as good without the build up, would it?

Don't get me wrong, everybody alive should watch the show. But man, just watch it from episode 1.

Agree. Season 5 isn't season 5 without seasons 1-4. As for "best series ever" I waver between Sopranos and The Wire.

Couldnt argue with either. Loved Tony. Still often gets sucked into Sopranos episodes when they are on HBO.

Her eis a pretty good article of his last day, which includes a meal no 50 year-old should eat along with 8 alcoholic beverages.
