Superbowl Favorites

Really good article. I know its early but I love reading this stuff.

Besides Denver, S.F., N.E. and Sea what teams will have a chance to win the SB?

I am not buying GB, Atl, Pitts or Balt. I am always weary of the Giants though.

Who is going to play in the SB this year?

Here is another good article on the 10 favorites to win the SB. Denver is at #1.

http://nflsoup.com/2013-nfl-predicti...14-super-bowl/

1. Denver Broncos (7/1)
The rich got richer this offseason, as Peyton Manning’s crew added Wes Welker to a group of receivers that was already as scary as they come. Welker should step into the slot role vacated by Brandon Stokley, and should be able to pick up right where he left off with Tom Brady and the Pats from a production standpoint.
They lost sack machine Elvis Dumervil to the Ravens in free agency (thanks to a snafu involving a fax machine), but were able to add veterans like Shaun Phillips Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Quentin Jammer to their defense. Jammer, a longtime corner in San Diego, will come in and play safety for Denver.
They fell in heart-breaking fashion to the Ravens in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, but may have been one Rahim Moore boneheaded play from making a deep run.
Manning should come into this year stronger and healthier than he did at the beginning of 2012, when he was still working his way back from several neck surgeries. If he can develop a quick rapport with Welker, and if the Broncos can get consistent production from their group of running backs, they’ll be the odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2014.

Here is another good article: http://goldengatesports.com/2013/05/...r-bowl-xlviii/

In the AFC, the Broncos and Patriots appear to be the top two teams. Denver had a top four offense and defense in 2012, and the team made noticeable improvements to bolster the defensive line, the wide receiving corps, the secondary and the offensive line during the offseason. Denver also has Peyton Manning, while the Patriots have Tom Brady as their signal-caller. New England hasn’t won a Super Bowl since the 2004 season, but with a defense that forces turnovers and Brady manning the offense, they will contend.
While Matt Ryan’s Falcons and Aaron Rodgers’ Packers will be in the mix, and while Joe Flacco’s Ravens are coming off of a Super Bowl triumph, I expect the 49ers, Broncos, Seahawks and Patriots to be the last four teams standing. Denver is as hungry as ever following a heartbreaking postseason exit in 2012, and with Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker and Tavarres King catching passes from one of the best quarterbacks of all-time, it’s reasonable to expect Denver to be in the AFC Championship
The Broncos won 11 consecutive games by at least eight points to conclude the 2012 regular season, and Manning finished the season with a 3.44 touchdowns-to-interceptions ratio. With the addition of Louis Vasquez, who allowed just two sacks in 2012, and other small moves, Denver will be even better. The Broncos definitely could have represented the AFC in Super Bowl XLVII, and they will have a great chance in 2013 as well.

i think the Giants are being really overlooked. of course they rarely are the pick to win it all, they sneak into the playoffs and Eli becomes the most clutch QB in the league. would be a really fun game to watch.

I voted for Atl only because that is who I want Denver to play in the Meadowlands.

HAHA I thought if Tebow is going to play in next years SB then Denver must have traded for him to play FB or punt protector.

Doggcow 06-17-2013 12:02 AM

I hope Denver NYG, then at least if I lose it's not a team I hate. Also the girly likes NYG... Soooo... No that's worse.

BroncoMan4ever 06-17-2013 12:13 AM

i think SF is being way overhyped, same with Seattle. very rarely do the previous years super bowl losers get back to the super bowl, most don't even make it back to the playoffs the following year. add in, Kaepernick has like 9 games of experience and got away with a lot of stuff because teams hadn't game-planned for him. this year will be different. Seattle had an awesome year, and made a lot of moves this offseason, but i think they are a year away from being a true contender. i also think they are very reliant on Lynch having unnoticed big years every season. i think they will be a playoff team, but not a true contender.

i think the NFC representative is going to be led by a QB with a super bowl win. Giants, Packers or Saints.

Yeah, I probably should have added N.O. to the poll. Their defense is so bad though. Probably not as bad as GB's defense though.

NUB 06-17-2013 01:42 AM

The NFC has a number of very strong teams right now, but if Kaepernick doesn't suck I think the 49ers will be hard to stop.

06-17-2013 06:31 AM

I want some payback. I hate the 49ers (Super Bowl 24)

TheReverend 06-17-2013 06:35 AM

Broncos vs Redskins or Bears

:D

baja 06-17-2013 06:37 AM

I would not want to play in a Super Bowl against Shanahan he is too good of a game plan / game day coach.

Archer81 06-17-2013 06:58 AM

Denver vs Seattle.

Why not.

:Broncos:

Because they overachieved last season and probably wont even make the post season this year.

Let's not forget, they were getting completely assraped by Washington until Griffin started getting shaky and only cemented the win when his leg collapsed and fumbled the ball at the goalline.

06-17-2013 07:43 AM

I don't see SF getting to the SB without Crabtree gholsten and walker. Boldin is a nice addition but doesn't have the same impact that Crabtree gives to kaepernick.

NFLBRONCO 06-17-2013 07:55 AM

I'd add NYG for sure they play well every other year.

HAT 06-17-2013 08:08 AM

Broncos / Saints

bfoflcommish 06-17-2013 08:25 AM

my boss is in vegas as we speak and sent me a pic of the odds saturday...Denver is now 3-1, thats crazy to think

ColoradoDarin 06-17-2013 08:25 AM

I went with either Seattle or Atlanta (and my preference would be for a dome team...). I'll take Atlanta as the best team in the NFC.

I would love to get SF, but they have already lost their QB's favorite weapon on offense, and I think Kaep is due for a regression. NYG are too schizo to predict. GB's defense isn't good enough.

delany 06-17-2013 08:30 AM

Den versus whoever wins the NFC South.
