FLUFF: the five biggest surprises in OTA

Yeah, it's that time of year. At least Kizla thinks Bruton might be entering beast mode this year.

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci...-o-8800-season

1. David Bruton
2. Julius Thomas
3. Ronnie Hilman
4. Wide Receivers
5. Offensive pace

Offensive Pace would be #3. Oz would be on and take WRs off.

Adam, what do you make of Muneer Moore's breakout performances in the minicamps this spring. Can this Richmond product finally be the true No.3 reciever the Broncos need?
- Steve from Boulder

Hi Steve, Moore has been a revelation so far. The Broncos are confident that he will be the next big thing at the position in the league. Oh and the Pear Scones and rose water are to die for at Phillipe's. 10/10. A true delight!

And this year's nominees for the Brandstater Award for Overhyped Excellence in OTA's are....

UberBroncoMan 06-16-2013 09:05 AM

Maybe Bruton will be Woodyard 2.0. I'd be for that.

Bruton had SUPERB measurable at the combine for a safety and he's extremely smart. You want at least one damn smart safety to QB stuff from the back end. The thing is, he's never been able to put it together on the field.

6'2, 219lb, runs a 4.40 with a 41.5 vertical jump.

That 1 safety spot has a ton of competition. I really hope he ascends.

Doesn't really surprise me that Bruton and Jammer are ahead of Adams and Moore.

Kooklah and Ollie could probably beat them out.

You must be old. You have to go back a ways to know who those two are.

Just realized I know who they are....

Id be happy of he was able to pull a sam Brandon type role. I have little faith hell start.

TheReverend 06-16-2013 07:33 PM

Awesome. Five kisses of death in one article.

brncs_fan 06-16-2013 08:05 PM

David Bruton is my lone Domer on the team to cheer for.

broncosteven 06-16-2013 08:14 PM

Who was that DE that Kahn interviewed at the TC that the OM got thrown out of for the Bowlen is a gutless drunk thread?

He was the star of the 1st couple days and then was cut in the 1st wave.

I think Klis was late for dinner when writing this one.

I would like to hear them pumping up MoneyBall more, maybe it is a good thing that Hillman is taking the heat off him.

I put my money behind Hillman being the guy who will not only dominate in camp but during the RS.

I remember Muneer Moore and all the hype. I don't think he ever caught a regular season pass for the Broncos.

Mock was a late night treasure

Kasper had been known to surf the mane when he was here, BTW.

He visited my high school team in practice one time. I posted this on the mane. I said Kasper had a "pottymouth" just in passing. Apparently he saw it and was offended. I apologized.

My coach said Kasper and his girlfriend offered to take me out to dinner to make up. Although I'm 99.9 percent sure he was ****ing with me. Anyway, for the rest of the year, I was remembered as the "guy who talked **** about Kevin Kasper on the internet."

Mogulseeker 06-16-2013 08:51 PM

Anyone remember Chris Cole?

I always hoped he would have broken out and had a good career.

baja 06-16-2013 08:52 PM

Let's not forget "The Claw"

He could get open at will even against Champ - too bad he couldn't catch the ball.

I just looked back at Crowder's measurables. That dude was a beast at the combine. Too bad he didn't pan out.

One of the most interesting stories during the lockout was Bruton tutored students at some local high school at algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. But his on-field play at safety hasn't been all that astronomical. Good guy to have on the team hence the new contract. I think Del Rio is pushing him to be more assertive because he's not all that happy with the safety play, he wants somebody to step up and be a leader.

You're right. Wesley Duke actually scored a TD in a regular season game.
