Giddy.

Rohirrim 06-07-2013 07:25 AM

It's not Jenna Fisher - "the receptionist - Pam" if that's who you're thinking. It's Amy Adams, who actually did have a 2 or 3 episode cameo appearance in The Office as Jim's girlfriend before he started dating Pam.

Isla Fisher is the one I get confused with Amy Adams.

KCStud 06-07-2013 07:35 AM

Christopher Nolan is going to make this movie epic. The guy just makes amazing movies.

Haven't seen a movie of his I didn't like.

Dr. Broncenstein 06-07-2013 07:41 AM

Seriously looking forward to this

Oh good, cause Pam is butt white and not attractive.
Why cant they get a smokin hot, curvy, latin girl to play Louis Lane?
I see all these movies a few months later on TV, and most end up
sucking. Although this one looks kinda cool.
Also, why so many remakes?
Man, Hollywood is outta ideas.

"Darker" is the right word for it. It's a calculated effort to "Batman" the character.

He's a consulting producer on this one. It's Zack Snyder at the helm.

It's kind of unfortunate because if the movie does well people will attribute it to Nolan's involvement, but if it blows people will most likely put most of the blame on Snyder. Oh well.

Kaylore 06-07-2013 08:16 AM

I can't even begin to convey how excited I am for this movie - and have been since the teasers first came out.

Let me also say that I am not a fan of Snyder. I think he's overhyped by his fanboys. It looks like he's pulling back on the comic book thing a bit on this and really going to do this justice.

Actually she was just there as a sales lady as I recall. Her character never dated Jim. Rashida Jones played a character that Jim dated.

It's just another indicator of how bankrupt Hollywood has become as far as innovation and new ideas go.

Will I go see it? Sure. What do I expect to see? Lot's of really cool FX accompanied by a pathetic, hackneyed story and limp, meaningless dialogue that I will forget before I even leave the theater. ;D.

At a Superman movie? What the crap are you expecting? News Flash: Gratuitous Super Hero movies don't win Oscars.

Go see Wish You Were Here or Mud if you want something cerebral.

People who go to action/adventure movies and complain the movie isn't deep enough or too formulaic for them need to be castrated.

Overreact much? Hollywood has the money to hire writers. They just don't see any need. The weasels can slap together another comic book movie, rake in a few hundred mil, and nobody is the wiser. Great writing is an investment Hollywood doesn't have to make because nobody demands it. The cattle will show up and munch their popcorn while meaningful art is eradicated from the medium in the interests of quick profit.

Shakespeare took the icons of his day, kings, and moved their mundane stories to a whole different level. The people were entertained, because he gave them what they wanted (sword fights) and yet poetry and the human story at its most profound were put on the stage. In case nobody has noticed, all we're getting anymore are "gratuitous super hero movies." Where are the great stories of our time?

Writing: The dying art.

This is a Zach Snyder movie. All Nolan did was help to convince Warner Brothers to go ahead with a reboot and then served as a producer. He had very little if any onset input and was more a behind the scenes, put his name in the trailers to get his fans to see it type.
