Peyton Manning's life is too good.

Peyton Manning shot a 77 at Augusta National

Manning also has a hole-in-one this season.

In addition to being a league MVP, Super Bowl champion, future Hall of Fame quarterback, multi-millionaire, dedicated family man and darn fine Saturday Night Live host, Peyton Manning is also the kind of guy who can play golf at Augusta National and shoot a 77 a few days after getting a hole-in-one.

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports Manning played the home course of the Masters in mid-May with John Elway and Denver Broncos coach John Fox. In the best of his three rounds at the world-famous course, Manning carded a 5-over-par 77. (Elway’s best was 72. Fox said his handicap went up six strokes after playing at Augusta.)

A few days before that, Manning randomly joined a threesome at a Denver-area course and carded a hole-in-one on a 166-yard par-3.

I’m not one to complain, but come on, sports gods. Why is Peyton good at football and golf? Spread the wealth a bit. If you’re good at one sport, you shouldn’t be good at another. For instance, I’m awesome at making double bogeys but can’t hit a three-pointer to save my life. BALANCE!

After Manning retires I see him and Elway going hard against each other on the greens.

They will be spending plenty of time together being co owners of the Broncos.

With their combined incomes it could happen. Two massive egos like that, I wonder if it would work.

Elway shooting par is bigger news to me.

He has a huge advantage as he is retired. Once Manning retires I imagine he'll be full time at course as well. That would be a fun Sunday pairing to watch play a round together.

Not to me I think he is a plus 1 handicap. He shoots under par at Black Rock which is a tough course in Idaho.

Elway has always been a very good golfer...... he was also an excellent baseball player coming out of high school/college..... George Brett have remarked to Lester Hayes about Elway taking grounders that he "hopes the son of a b**** goes and plays football because if he doesn't, I'm out of a job"

i think people forget since his knees were bad late in his career.
but Elway was a freak among freaks as a athlete.
he could have legitimately been a star baseball player, his threat to not play football was a viable one since he was really good at that too.

though i do agree with some posters that Manning could end up as GM or co-owner of the franchise after he retires.
can you imagine he critiquing of QB's in a draft class if that happened?
i wish a scout would bring up a crappy QB and say he's just raw :wiggle:

Why didn't they invite Bubba Caldwell to play?

@AndreCaldwell

Wouldve been nice to get invited to Augusta like our other potential team captain. Just motivates me to work harder.

That would be a dynamic duo.

I have wondered would Peyton own a team, be involved in coaching, work for a network, or walk away. I'm sure ESPN/NFL Network would throw biggg money his way.

Let's hope he at least plays out the length of his contract at a high level if not longer with multiple SB wins!

Nah. I think Manning's future is Offensive Coordinator somewhere, hopefully here in Denver. Manning will win a couple of Super bowls and Gase will end up as the head coach of the Jets or Cowboys.

Boom. Peyton is then our OC with Brock at the helm. Good times.

After his NFL career Peyton's going to want to spend time with his family and not spend 20 hours a day coaching for peanuts.

Just lends credence to the fact that Elway is in fact more than a mere mortal. 5 time super bowl starting QB (first ever), first ballot HOFer, 2nd round MLB draft pick by the Yankees, shoots par at Augusta.
