That tends to be the case when you are on a 2-14 team.

boltaneer 05-16-2013 11:56 AM

AJ Smith did a fine job of destroying the cap before he left...

BroncoMan4ever 05-16-2013 01:01 PM

holy ****! Janikowski is being paid way too much.

SimonFletcher73 05-16-2013 01:25 PM

Goodbye Joe Mayes
Irritating that we have Caleb Hanie dead money of any amount
Raiders are the kings of dead money with $40m going to 5 guys
Chiefs still suck
Chargers should be playing is LA by now

Tamba Hali - $15.5m!-pro bowl double digit sack artist
Berry - $10.2m-pro bowl top 10 safety
Albert - $9.8m-franchise tag-top 10 pass protector of last 2 seasons
Flowers - $9.6m-75th ranked player of 2013 by the players

Looks like that money isn't going to waste.

Rascal 05-16-2013 02:06 PM

Raiders have 7+ mil of dead money for a guy who has 50% chance of being dead by the end of the year.

Pick Six 05-16-2013 02:12 PM

We marvel at the $20 million that Peyton is getting, but Rivers is getting $17 million (only $3 million less). So, the Chargers are paying a quarterback $3 million less than a sure-fire first-ballot HOF quarterback. Can we say WAY overpaid? LOL

Eric Berry was garbage most of last year. He went to the Pro Bowl based on his rep from his rookie year/the fact he was able to get on the football field following his torn ACL.

Hali is terribly overpaid at $15 million a year. Wouldn't get even half of that on the open market. Albert is probably the only player on that list that isn't grossly overpaid and that would depend on him being healthy

Hulamau 05-16-2013 02:23 PM

Nice to see that with our loaded team were still have the best cap space in the AFC west.

2x in a 7 year career. The $ would match up if you dropped the 1 in front of the 5.5 million...

Still living off a great rookie season.

Carr over Flowers? Hilarious!

Your opinion is hilarious. Carr lived off a good year in 2011 facing #2 WR's most of the time and then got burned several times as a #1 CB in 2012, especially against the Skins and Giants.
I'm paying $50 million to Flowers every single time.

Oh and speaking of living off their reputation, your CB has done that for the last few years.

Aw ****, wrong game.

Still...

yerner 05-16-2013 03:55 PM

wow, meachem. in what bizzaro world is that guy rich? literally has done nothing for all that money he's made. something like 36 million in contracts since he was drafted.

Flowers gets roasted by tall, big physical WR's. He's basically a slightly better version of Mark "Mighty Mouse" McMillian. He's a good CB, but Chief fans that think he's an elite CB have to be on meth.

yerner 05-16-2013 04:01 PM

Robert Meachem, 155 catches, 2476 yards, 25 tds in six seasons?

Not top 5, but pro bowl worthy.

Hali has been a double digit sack artist twice in his 7 year career and last year was not one of them. And we got Miller, who has only had 2 years and has 1/2 as many sacks already.

If Berry's making 10.2 mil for what he's done what are we going to have to pay Chris Harris? He's only started 16 games, 1/2 of what Berry has and has 1 less INT, the same sacks and about 30 less tackles. I guess when your team is so bad anything good looks great. What's funny is they are willing to pay great.

With Berry they didn't really have a choice, he was drafted before the rookie cap and his deal was slotted. If we had drafted Von before the rookie cap he would be getting 12 million per year.

And Von would be worth it.
