Official 2013 Mock Draft UDFA Thread

Are 254 picks in the regular draft not enough for you? Still obsessing over that free safety from Leftout State Teacher's College who ran a 4.34 in the 40? Worried about how you're going to get your NFL draft fix for the next few weeks?

There's no need to fear.... the UDFA round is here!

The UDFA (UnDrafted Free Agent) round is open to all 32 participants of the regular mock draft -- you don't have to participate if you don't want to, but all picks will be included in your mock draft haul and count towards bragging rights.

2008 UDFA Round Results: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=67629
2009 UDFA Round Results: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=79818
2010 UDFA Round Results: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=90729
2011 UDFA Round Results: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=97743
2012 UDFA Round Results: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=104884

Here are the details for this year (exactly the same as 2012):

1. All teams begin with $100,000 to bid for players which were not selected in the 2013 OM Mock Draft. Bidding is done blindly and privately -- in other words, all bids are sent to me via PM, and the results are revealed at the conclusion of the bidding period. DO NOT POST YOUR BIDS IN THIS THREAD!

2. Minimum bid for a player is $5000. Bids can be made in $100 increments only. There will only be one round of bidding, so any cash you have left over will be useless. In other words - use it or lose it.

3. Please send all bids via one and only one PM to me (BowlenBall) any time between the last selection in the OM Mock Draft and Saturday, April 13th, at 11:59 p.m. MST. Please title the PM "UDFA Round Picks for (your team)". All bids received after the deadline will be considered null and void.

4. Please submit bids in this format:

Name, Position, College, Bid
Shawn Moore, QB, Virginia, $30,000
Cedric Tillman, WR, Alcorn State, $11,400
Steve Russ, LB, Air Force, $23,700
Total Spent: $65,100

5. Please do not submit bids for players who have already been selected in the mock draft. Refer to the Alpha list or the main pick thread before you submit your bid. Any bids for pre-selected players will be ignored, and the team owner will NOT be notified of his error.

6. Tiebreaker: if two or more teams bid the same amount for the same player, then whoever submitted their bid first will be considered the winner.

7. Results will be posted shortly past midnight on Sunday, April 14th.

8. In the interests of transparency, I will submit my own list via PM to JCMElway before the official bidding period begins, and before I review any of the bids submitted. In addition, I will disqualify myself from the tiebreaker rules, meaning that any tie that I am involved with will go to the other team.

9. As I receive bids, I will post confirmation below, along with a sequence number indicating when they submitted it to me (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).

Priority list (earlier team wins any tie bids):
1. Kansas City (Conklin)
2. Indianapolis (Mediator12)

Don't submit any bids to me yet -- we'll wait for the last two picks of the regular mock draft. I'll send PMs out to everyone once we've got the green light....

Conklin 04-08-2013 02:09 PM

Last pick is in, bids sent, REAL GM's are on the phone before the draft even ends!

Mat'hir Uth Gan 04-08-2013 02:24 PM

Can we send them yet? I was holding mine until his email was sent. Going to send it now I guess.....

OBF1 04-08-2013 02:27 PM

Sent mine in last night lol. Guess I am a real GM finally :)

I heard sending in your picks early only invalidated your selections. With your draft being so good and you actually being the Raiders don't expect much mercy from the peanut gallery when BB rejects them 8')

OBF1 04-08-2013 02:35 PM

No one hates oakland and their fans more than I do... I feel so dirty after participating in this draft, Please give me a break lol

Conklin 04-08-2013 02:39 PM

According to the rules, we can't send picks in until the last pick is made, this CBF's shouldn't count toward the priority order.

JCMElway 04-08-2013 02:57 PM

I will wait for BB's decision on this, but CBF1 [I]should[I] resend his picks, just to be safe.

And CB, I feel your pain. I drafted for the Fade last year. Gross....

jebures 04-08-2013 03:03 PM

mine are sent!

OBF1 04-08-2013 03:15 PM

Who do you think sent BB an email last night to have him re post the rules of free agency period? I asked him then if I could send my list in at that time and he said it was okay. So none of you need to worry about me :)

I'm going to at least say it is BS that it was allowed. I've had my list ready since my last pick, but I waited until the last pick was made like the rules state.

JCMElway 04-08-2013 05:02 PM

11 Targets. HMMMMM...do I pare down the list?.....

Take it up with BB. This is his party......

I trust him to settle it fairly.

Good morning gentlemen (it's a real pain being 10 time zones away from everyone else).

The UDFA round officially started at 12:26 a.m. Abu Dhabi time, when Mediator12 put in his pick for mister irrelevant (and stole one of my UDFA guys in Emmet Cleary, dammit!). I hope no one was waiting for my p.m. before submitting bids, I only meant that I would notify people at that time that the bidding is open (which I will do now).

CBF1 did jump the gun and send his picks to me early -- however, he was on the message board talking about doing so at 1:27 a.m. Abu Dhabi time, so I'll put him at 4th on the priority list as only three other people had submitted bids at that point. (fair enough, everyone?)

Already have 9 bids in my inbox this morning.... sweet.....

Check the original post... you're #1, Quick Draw.

11 bids submitted already (although one person sent some bids below $5000, and will need to re-submit).

you hadn't updated it when I posted :-P

It is okay that I bid all 100,000 on Demps again, right?

I was just reading that whole kerfuffle again last night when preparing the new thread. The funny thing is that he DID end up being signed after the draft by the Patriots, which means you were right, he was fair game to be signed.

That being said, they're having some problems with him right now....

I didn't participate last year, just read the thread while preparing for the UDFA process. Definitely got a laugh or two out of it.

BowlenBall 04-08-2013 10:27 PM

In case you were wondering:

2008: 17 teams submitted UDFA bids
2009: 09 teams submitted UDFA bids
2010: 17 teams submitted UDFA bids
2011: 18 teams submitted UDFA bids
2012: 18 teams submitted UDFA bids
2013: 11 teams submitted UDFA bids (so far)

Would LOVE it if we could get all 32 teams to participate.... impossible dream?

JCMElway 04-09-2013 06:53 AM

What the hell happened in 2009?
