I think we will start and end the season against the same team.
Denver vs. San Fran will be a great Super Bowl!

Punisher 04-04-2013 01:40 PM

Almost the same as last year don't we kind of play the same teams anyway

OBF1 04-04-2013 01:45 PM

Kind of looks like the NFC West

Yeah, what gives? Have they changed the entire preseason format, or did we just end up like this?

titan 04-04-2013 01:52 PM

Not a good schedule for season ticket holders. That last game has been on the road in recent years but now it's home (regular season prices to watch the backups play). Plus St Louis the week before is hardly a marquee matchup.

Was my first thought as well...ugh. Oh well, it's an excuse to get tipsy in the parking lot and eat lots of **** I shouldn't eat.

Kaylore 04-04-2013 01:58 PM

Too bad any one of the first two games couldn't have been the third.

Yes and I think it's all due to travel, that is, the less travel the better so the NFCW teams make sense.

Mat'hir Uth Gan 04-04-2013 01:59 PM

Sweet! Love that the 3rd week will be televised.

Pretty much. I think they schedule preseason games more or less by convenience/proximity.

San Francisco, Seattle, AZ, STL, Dallas, Chicago... would be the closest NFC teams to us.

But don't you want to see all the players that the Rams didn't get?

Looks like I won't make any money on the preseason. Full price for the last preseason game is a joke.

I agree. I think one of those two will be the final game. Like to see how the team performs against them.

This. We always play Arizona and San Fran, it seems. The league must try to minimize travel for preseason. Now, if we play San Fran, we could play Oakland or KC too......but obviously, division teams are to be avoided in the preseason, or any team you play in the regular season, for that matter.

Although, I do believe at one time it was possible for teams to face in the preseason and regular season. It probably still, is. When we are set to play the NFC West again in 2014......we might face some of those teams again in the preseason for the short travel.....but probably not all of them like we are this year.

Week 3: vs. St. Louis Rams — Saturday, Aug. 24, 6 p.m. MDT (Nationally televised on CBS)

Nationally televised? Didn't someone tell than that McD and Lloyd are back in NE and we didn't actually sign Steven Jackson, despite all OMane reports to the contrary? What a blah game to nationally televise.

What do you mean? It is Peyton Manning against a team that does not have Peyton Manning.

Not for nothing......but aren't all preseason games "blah"?

Dallas is anther NFC team we seem to play pretty regularly in the preseason and again, I think it's about the travel distance between the two cities. But the team we play the most in preseason is Arizona.
