Broncos to meet with Le'Veon Bell and Quinton Patton.

Much thanks to my buddy Jon Heath, who was contact by one of Bell's representatives to let him know. Broncos met with Patton on Tuesday.

Stud WR and RB.

More here.

I like both of those guys. Patton reminds me a bit of Pierre Garçon

Nice, would love to see them go after Stepfan Taylor

Nothing much else to do when you are spending a day off in the hospital.

Just saw that Broncos camp will be Aug 4 - Aug 12. Hoping I can get out there to do some camp coverage. Will be interesting to see if we can get media pass with MHR, but they usually don't give it to "bloggers."

HOPING SO!

We have been pimpin Bell since the Liberty Bell! It would be a great draft pick!

Your the man Chris!

OBF1 03-29-2013 02:42 PM

Bell YES, Patton NO. We need a RB for sure, We just signed Welker, I can think of a number of positions of NEED for this team besides WR.

DBroncos4life 03-29-2013 02:42 PM

Every time I see that pick of Bell jumping over that dude I get Moreno flash backs. Even more so when you compare the combine numbers. Outside of the 3 cone they are pretty close.

03-29-2013 02:50 PM

I bet the broncos have to pick bell in the first round if they want him. I think the pundits are undervaluing him compared to where he actually sits on teams' draft boards

Well, I don't know if it is that high, but I don't think he makes it to our second rounder.

Looks like Studesville went to his Pro Day and a bunch of other teams are hot on him.

And FWIW, I think Denver should draft another WR in this class. Great time to get one, and with Welker on a two-year deal and Decker up for free agency, we would be wise to make sure we got assets for the future. It also means Caldwell and that other turd at WR can GTFO.

maybe I haven't been paying attention to the workouts enough, but I don't think Lacy is getting that much attention, considering he's considered the number one back.

Agree that they need to develop a guy so they have leverage against decker in negotiations or can just let him go. Decker's gonna want too much money next year, but Thomas is the only one who deserves big money imo.

Agreed. And it would be really great if you could get out there for Broncos camp.
Please try to make it man.
Frankly, i dont care if its Bell, Taylor or Franklin. DEN just needs to grab a RB in this draft between the 2nd and 4th round.

Well Bell is like 25 pounds heavier

...and doesn't have jello knees and fancy dancing.

Is a running back really worth it in rounds 1-3 in todays NFL?

IMO, there are two type of RBs- those who take over games, and everyone else. The ones who take over games are typically top-10 picks.... and you can usually find a productive RB in the 4th-6th

Requiem 03-29-2013 03:50 PM

Well, considering John Fox drafted four running backs in the top two rounds and numerous ones in the fourth, I would say he values RB pretty high.

That would be great if Lacy slipped to the Broncos at 28. As for Bell, he's gonna get killed if he tries to do that hurdle stuff in the NFL...

Lacy is a hard runner, but Bell is more athletic, and runs equally hard. But Lacy is a more compact runner.

legarrette blount has proven hurdling can work for a big back in the nfl. db's are still gonna try to take a big back like bell out low

Of course DBs are gonna go low, they don't want to get killed, that being said a move like that will only work for so long in the NFL before the RB gets hurt. If Bell does it every once in a while and in open space ok, but it can't be a bread and butter move for him.

Look at where Doug martin went last year. We are in a very good spot to select any of the premier backs in the 2013 draft. I don't care who it is or where we take him but we need a sturdy young runner that is a game changer from this next draft. (ie Bell, Ball, Lacy)
