Houston has a better defense but if it enough against NE at home?

Brady has had a major distraction this week with the birth of his daughter on Wednesday.

We need Houston to win this game.

I think tonight is a win win for Denver.

Houston wins and Denver has it's own destiny in its hands for the #2 seed

NE wins and next week won't matter too much as Hous has the tie breaker over us and NE will have a great shot at the #1 seed with a tie breaker over HOUS

I bet Baltimore ends up 11-5 no matter what and the #4 seed. Denver just wants to avod Foxboro

I agree with most of what you said. What I don't understand is how it's a win-win?

If Houston wins, we probably get a BYE and a 2nd round home game. If NE wins, well, we don't.

If New England wins tonight, we all become 49er fans next Sunday night. I hope the Niners bring it like they did against the Bears a few weeks ago.

The win win part for me is avoiding NE for as long as possible

I meant it's not the end of the world if NE wins my assumption would be Denver would be locked into the 3rd seed and NE is probaby goig to win out and Hou still plays Indy twice so NE will have a very good shot at the #1 seed and Denver wouldn't meet NE until the AFCC game

I don't like any teams chances playing AT Foxboro in December.

What if the Texans began a losing streak, beginning tonight and they lose to the Colts on Sunday and the Vikings the following Sunday and then play the Colts for the South division in the final game. That would make them no better than 12-4 and if we win out we are 13-3 and if the Niners can somehow win at NE next Sunday, they would finish no better than 12-4 which would give us home field throughout. That would be just pretty.

Rooting against New England (at all times).

NE has SF next week also. They could easily lose both games.

Too much to ask for but that would be awesome.

NE is the favorite at -3. They're also the current favorite to win the Super bowl (anyone else see this? I saw NE at 4.25 to 1. Denver at 5.5 to 1)
There's a reason for this. No one believes NE's defense is as bad as the ranking shows.

That said, if NE has its flaws, Houston stands a good shot at exposing them. I like this game, because even if NE wins, it provides superb late season film for us.

I never really wish for an injury, and I still won't. However, if New England had a "run of bad luck," I would probably be open to that. I mean that in the nicest way.

Unlikely, but not impossible. I don't think the Colts have the experience and firepower to beat Houston once, much less twice.

Best thing to hope for is NE dropping this game and the Niners game, Denver takes care of business in Baltimore and we secure a bye.

I wouldn't be so fast to take SF. They aren't as good when traveling back east. I don't see their offense putting up more than 24.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Both teams so battered and bruised that regardless of who wins the game, they both actually lose.

Houston has three key defensive starters on IR and Joseph is banged up. Unless Watt goes completely nuts, NE should have all day to throw on a weakened secondary.

Also, this game doesn't mean too much to Houston.

And, it's in New England.

But...it's raining tonight. So, Houston has a prayer if this becomes a "mudder" type game. If not, I don't see them winning.

Our best hope is for SF to win next week, which should happen.

New England hasn't won a single road game against a winning team all year.

If they don't get the #2 seed, they could be looking at an early exit in the playoffs.

Really want Houston to win. Houston isn't going to magically collapse and lose three of their last four.

If Houston wins then the #2 seed is completely in our hands. That's all that matters.
