So you think he will play just like Willis?

srphoenix 11-20-2012 08:55 AM

I think he'll be less effective than McGahee was but generally fill that same role if he ends up as the starter.

Given that Hillman was given the ball 3 straight carries at the end of the last game tells me he will be the starter next week and I think he's going to have a great game.

Crushaholic 11-20-2012 08:59 AM

They'll have to respect Manning, and Knowshon will have a monster game...

This is pretty much what I think will happen. I think Hillman and Moreno will both have great games.

v2micca 11-20-2012 09:04 AM

You left out the option,

Continually run into his own lineman until he takes one of them out for the game.

11-20-2012 09:06 AM

It think Manning will throw over 300 yards with multiple scores, While Von has another monster game. Resulting in the run game being just a fraction of the reason they get a win.

A quote from Moreno this week:

“(Sitting out the past eight weeks has been) tough,” said Moreno. ”You just want to go out there and help your team win. I took the approach where I was helping my team win in practice, doing any type of special-teams or scout team work that I needed to do to help the team win. That’s the approach I was taking.”

“You just never know when your chance is going to be. When your chances do come, you’ve got to make the most of those and go about it the right way. I think that’s where I was.”

Gotta love the positive attitude. I was pretty down on Moreno in the first few weeks of the year, but I'm definitely rooting for him to have a break-out game this week.

sure, but Willis doesn't dance around like a ballerina

Play2win 11-20-2012 09:09 AM

Run faster to the sidelines after a score, so he can celebrate, than he ever does actually on the field, especially between the tackles.

Play2win 11-20-2012 09:10 AM

Seriously though, hopefully he can make some big plays in the screen game.

Those are useful skills dammit....he just needs to use them 15 yards downfield instead

^5

just remember, those skills don't appear until we are down a few scores

huh?? 11-20-2012 09:23 AM

I'm really hoping he goes "all crazy legs" and does really well. It would be great if he becomes the 'back everyone was expecting. Someone posted a highlight clip in another thread that was pretty cool. It showed how he is capable of good vision and can stop/start on a dime to make tacklers miss and get some extra yards (even a TD on one of those plays). That may have shown ALL of his good runs, but if he can be more consistent, it will be fun to watch. It's too bad that I mainly remember him dancing around in the backfield and getting tackled for a loss.

Kaylore 11-20-2012 09:26 AM

I expect the usual tap-dancing, jazz hands. Then he'll break a big run, it'll look like a score, and someone will punch the ball out from behind and he'll roll an ankle. Then at after the break we'll see him getting a massage and he'll fall off the massage table.

Tip: It's far less frustrating to watch Moreno play football if you imagine the Benny Hill theme in your head whenever he <s>gets the ball</s> does anything.

Br0nc0Buster 11-20-2012 09:29 AM

For whatever reason he seems to have success against KC

I am sure he will have a good game
I would like to see us to run it down their throats all game
Not to take a team lightly, but I think this would be a good game to try and establish a physical running game to build on for the future

Beantown Bronco 11-20-2012 09:36 AM

As much as I'd like to think he'll have a monster game, I just don't see him getting enough touches to make it happen. This is his first game back....and while he's technically been practicing every day as if he's going to play each Sunday, he hasn't actually played in games, so I assume they'll break him in a little slowly.

I'm thinking 10 or so carries. 5 or so targets in the passing game. 70+ combined yards, protect the ball and maybe get a TD. That would be plenty. Certainly good enough, but not a "monster game."

TheElusiveKyleOrton 11-20-2012 09:38 AM

Platoon with the other backs on the roster to do just enough to get Manning over 300 yards and three touchdowns.

broncocalijohn 11-20-2012 09:40 AM

He will look good because of the garbage stats. Basically garbage stats start at kickoff versus the Chiefs. I think he should play to see if there is anything worth keeping on the roster. If he plays, he will have 3 catches for 37 yards, 5 runs for 23 yards. Good productive numbers. He won't have enough chances to fumble. Oh, ground causes fumble will be one thing that will happen to him.
Only way he gets more carries is if Ball is ineffective.

As I see it his problem has always been he tries to make too much happen. If he could learn to let the game come to him I think he could be great. I just hope he doesn't fall into his habit of trying to hard given he knows he is running out of chances. Too bad Bobby Turner left he could have really helped Morano a lot especially in the mental part of the position.

Stud has had his hand in developing some fine backs himself. Tiki Barber, McGahee, Lynch and Fred Jackson all rushed for 1000 yards under Studs before he coached at Denver.

That's true but Turner seems to get their head right at least that is what I have read somewhere. Maybe fwf told me. ;D
