That Verizon NFL commercial with the cat-girl
 

I don't understand that commercial Verizon is showing where some lonely girl living with cats transforms her life by watching the nfl on her phone, going to the salon, Lowes, taking grayhound and then somehow getting into a BBQ during the Saints' bye week.

That and the five hour energy <s>guitar</s> every commercial they make are why I am grateful for DVR.

Yeah they did this for the nerd guy too. No one I know understands these commercials.

Even when ads suck, as 99% of them do, they get the messaging right. Who are they targeting? People that want to see themselves as nerds that want friends? No one does, even nerds.

It's a vast improvement over the mom/daughter combo blubbering over subtitles. And cat people gross me out.

It's like they're supposed to be learning about football so now they can talk about it competently with their friends during the week...except they only have time to watch it on their phone? Or something? I think it's supposed to just advertise that you get a full NFL experience on your phone, not sure what the "nerds become big NFL fans, have unfortunate run in with NFL star in final scene" angle is all about though.

Yes.. goofy stuff. Fox-girls are like.. way better than cat girls. Silly cats.

All the reformed nerds I know restarted their social lives hanging out at Lowes.

And, it's a commercial about how a smartphone will transform your life. geesh. I thought everyone knew that.

the commercial is how the woman goes from pathetic woman sitting home alone with 12 cats eating ice cream to hot chick via the knowledge of the NFL she gets thru Verizon's NFL Mobile.....a transformation from ugly duckling to beautiful swan so to speak.

the point is the same as the point of every commercial: buy this product and you will be cool/hot/**** hot chicks. it uses every conceivable stupid means of implying this point.
