This is one of those times when it is best to shut the **** up and realize "your boy" is not playing because of his own stupid fault. If he was so much better than Mays or anyone else, he would have made sure to be the #1 guy and not be a **** up.

Lighten up, Francis. No one is contesting the reason why he isnt playing. He's obviously made some poor choices and the union has somehow agreed to let a viper into its bosom by unwisely giving away the store to the Commissioner. Those are the principal reasons.

DJ is a much bigger embarrassment to the Broncos than Joe Mays is even if he misses tackles. Not to mention it's nobody's fault but DJ's that he is suspended. I hope the Broncos revamp the entire LB corps save for Miller and Woodyard next season.

If you watch any of the games last year you'll see how valuable DJ is to the team. He might not be the playmaker we'd all like but he does tackle well, he is fast and he can cover TEs very well. If he comes in ready to go he could be a valuable addition the remainder of the season and the playoff push. The big question is, will he be ready to go?

Through the first 5 games of DJ's season last year and the 2 guys who have taken his position the first 5 games this year, DJ has been eclipsed. Not only that but his replacements are on pace to better his season total.

I couldn't find the tackles for loss stat. (Working on my phone) So I will have to take your word for it.

Also I don't expect WW to get 2 more INTs since our LB corps averages maybe 1 a year, but causing a couple FF wouldn't surprise me.

Not so sure about that. 500k cap hit. I say draft his replacement (Te'o!!!) and keep him as a short yardage/goal line/ST guy. In obvious running plays he is a vicious tackler and hitter, and thr majority of his career he has been a standoit special teamer. Plus he is a good character guy.

What? In obvious running plays, Mays misses the tackle when he is fortunate enough to hit the right gap. He should be no more than a seventh, mostly inactive LB on the roster.

A guy can dream. Hell, at different points the last couple years Burfict was seen as a possible top 10 pick. Guys could rise and he could fall.

In obvious running plays where he can be a straight line guy (namely short yardage or goal line rushes) not arguing his pursuit skills suck and in most regular situations he constantly hits the wrong gap.

Te'o seems to be a classic MLB (I don't think he can play at OLB, but I could be wrong there). Here's the average draft position of the first MLB/ILB in the draft since we lasted picked Al Wilson (a.k.a., the last MLB we were all happy with):

I'd say that Manti Te'o's college career could probably be favorably compared with some of the better linebackers on the list -- but where he ends up being drafted really all depends on how he tests at the combine.

Realistically, we're probably going to need to be in slots 8-10 to draft him. If we end up making the playoffs, that means it would probably cost us a 1st and a 2nd round choice to move up and take him. Is it worth it? Given the need and the fit, I would say yes.

I wish DJ was back on the field yes.

I wish even more that he had never acted like a douche and gotten another DUI, suspension etc etc in the first place.
