Brown a possbile Bronco?

I think I just heard on ESPN John Clatyon say that D-lineman C. Brown was negotiating between Cleveland and the Broncos right now.

Ballhawk 03-09-2004 02:13 PM

Who the hell is that?

LGM 03-09-2004 02:13 PM

No I thought it was C.Brown . I could be wrong I dont follow the Browns Much

bpc 03-09-2004 02:18 PM

Orlando Brown played for the Ravens last year... mean SOB. Courtney Brown is a decent player when healthy but he has a rather large CAP number and has injury problems.

<a href="http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187384" target="_blank">Courtney Brown</a> was the no 1 OA pick from penn ST in the 2000 draft. He was selected and played with <a href="http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187383" target="_blank">LaVar Arrington</a>.

Rulon Velvet Jones 03-09-2004 02:19 PM

Was good at Penn State.

Oh, wait...can you mention that he played at Penn State or is that another guy?

Spider 03-09-2004 02:22 PM

No he played like crap, but the took him #1 OA anyways :bash:

Hulamau 03-09-2004 02:22 PM

I think he either said "Courtney" or "Cornelius" Brown, but I think he was talking about the D-lineman that got the flag in the eye from the ref when he was with Cleveland a few years ago. I will have to listen to the next repeat broadcast to confirm. I caught this on the tele from the next room, but he definitely said the deal was down between the Browns and the Broncos, whoever he is:-)!

Hulamau 03-09-2004 02:24 PM

Yeah, I think you might be right that it was Orlando Brown!! Sorry for the confusion!

Also they just said Couch definitely is going to be gone. Could we, or even should we afford him as a back-up to Jake?

fuzzy 03-09-2004 02:25 PM

So what's the story on this guy? Wasn't he the #1 overall pick a few years back? Why the fall from grace?

Hulamau 03-09-2004 02:25 PM

David Boston to seek trade from Chargers and Chargers give permission. Big surprise! What a bust for them!

Ballhawk 03-09-2004 02:26 PM

Well Orlando Brown was out for a year with the eye, is he any good?

Rulon Velvet Jones 03-09-2004 02:26 PM

I think it's reliant on Ekuban signing there. If he does, then Brown would be available.

bpc 03-09-2004 02:28 PM

I think he has the athletic ability and arm strength to be great in this league. I don't know about his head but I watched him lead the Browns to a win in Pitt last year that was very impressive. IF we could get a deal out of him like we did with Frerotte a few years ago, I would be totally in favor of that.

As for Brown.. he sounds interesting. Dude is a road grader and a mean one at that. It would be good from the standpoint that maybe he could tutor Foster in the attitude department. The thing is, can he play LT too?

plummerrox 03-09-2004 02:29 PM

Orlando was the one that got hit in the eye. He actually visited with Shanahan last year but wanted way too much money and went to Baltimore.

Courtney Brown has underachieved ever since he came into the league. Ton of potential, but hasn't lived up to it yet.

LGM 03-09-2004 02:29 PM

Brown (the flag incident guy) was on the Ravens, and has signed with someone hasn't he?

Courtney Brown, the guy who came out with Arrington, would be a nice addition to our D line rotation. I'd take a flyer on him even with his injuries.

Orlando, or even Lomas Brown are NO GO's here.
