The Death Star Begins to Crumble...
1. Patriots cut Fanene, after having just given him a $3.85M signing bonus months ago - This is significant, because it leaves them thin at DE. Chandler Jones hasn't shown much in the preseason, and relied on his arm length to overpower OT's in his brief college career. He won't be able to do that against NFL OT's who have arm's just as long as his (Clady's arms are longer). Their starting LDE is Rob Ninkovich (who had his way with Franklin in the playoffs), but is undersized, and questionable how well he'll play as a full-time 4-3 DE.
2. Patriots OT's (especially LT Solder) getting ragdolled in the preseason - Some of you may know that Patriots LT Matt Light retired in the offseason, leaving Nate Solder to take over at LT in 2012. So far, the results have been outstanding...for opposing Defenses. A Solder breakdown led to a big hit on Brady and a fumble in the 1st preseason game. RT Sebastian Vollmer is still recovering from a back injury sustained last year, and hasn't played. He was visibly in pain at the start of training camp. Marcus Cannon has slow feet and won't work at RT. 3. Patriots RG Brian Waters may have retired - We won't know until the weekend after the last preseason game, but if the 35 year old, Waters hasn't returned from Waxahachie, TX, by then...he ain't coming back. Nobody knows except the Patriots what's going on, and they aren't telling anyone, but consider this: their starting Center from 2011 (Dan Connolly) has been practicing solely at RG all training camp long, while the team looks for a replacement for Connolly at Center. 4 players took snaps at Center during the Patriots 2nd preseason game, Monday Night. 4. The Return of Hoodie Jr. - We all know too well what this means: A crappy running game, and bubble-screens galore. The Patriots exhibited both during their loss to the Eagles last night. This ain't 2007, and B. Lloyd ain't Randy Moss. Worst of wishes, cheating Patriots...see ya Oct. 7, Brady, if you make it that far... |
Do they still have Tom Brady?
They'll be fine. |
You know any team with weak OTs is not gonna want to play Dnever.

Your love for everything about the Pats crazy. LOL
I told you Solder wasn't a elite tackle like you claimed and that the D was in trouble with out Anderson and Carter. You can't replace 20.5 sacks that easy with two rookies. Still I think Carter will be back. Everything I have seen about Carter says he is looking to return to the Pats. |

Jones ain't got no moves...and only had 1 tackle with 1 assist in game 1. yawn |

Andre Carter worked out with the Raiders today... |

if Tom Brady is rushed, hurried and sacked so as to lose his ability to be an effective QB, that is just fine with me, especially if they can't run the ball. Their number 1 running back is Veneer. |

What are you babbling about? They are head over heals up in Boston with Chandler Jones in practice. They talk about his progress every day on every radio show and every coach interview.

Doom and Von should break him in two. Someone insert gratuitous clip of Doom decleating Brady last year..........................please |

He's got long arms, a fast 3-cone, and he's tall. That don't make him JPP. Try again Belicheat, your latest imitation ain't getting past Clady. |

I am waiting to see Brady's reaction when he is told to throw it to whomever his LT is.
That ought to piss Gissell off! |

Won't be the first time the Patriots have had glaring weaknesses.
Belichick will probably find a way to work around them per usual. |

And as for the original post, I think the third week in August is a little early to be writing off the Pats. |

And NE loves them some Chandler Jones and Hightower.. |

Pretty sure we are the last team that needs to be talking **** about NE at the moment. Unless we've suddenly forgotten 41-23 and 45-10.
Let's talk smack when we can hold them under 40 points |
