Um...you do realize that Obama has overseen the economic malaise that led to the most poverty-stricken people in the history of the country, right?
I'll help you out...this is the fruit of Obama's stimuli:
-longest period of high unemployment in US history
-the only credit downgrade in US history
-the largest number of people in poverty in US history
-inflation increase
-on and on.
And you just want to sit here and vomit a bunch of partisan nonsense to change the subject? Shame on you. We're moving on without you crazy partisan types. Just don't go nuts and start shooting us.

The only hope that you clowns have is to change the subject and hope that the country undergoes mass amnesia about what has happened to this country since 2008.
The whole "this is the guy who was president 3 years ago's fault" is beyond stupid, and your party is stupid for trying to spout that mantra over and over again thinking that anyone is stupid enough to believe it.
You guys are going to have to try harder.
Let me give you some advice...continuing to lie, lie, lie about every stinkin' issue under the sun isn't going to help.

This from a guy who has been working overtime to convince everyone that Bush never existed and that Bush's eight years of economic destruction never happened?
A guy who is willing to ignore the fact that his hero Dumbya left the U.S. economy in the worst shape since the great depression?

Government aid keeps millions out of poverty
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Without help from the federal government, millions more people would have sunk below the poverty line in 2010, U.S. Census data shows.
Unemployment insurance helped keep 3.2 million Americans out of poverty in 2010, according to new statistics released Tuesday. Without this vital lifeline, which lasts up to 99 weeks, these jobless folks would have joined the roughly 46.2 million people now considered in poverty.
Other government assistance programs, such as food stamps, also provided much-needed support to the poor. But because the Census Bureau's official poverty statistics don't consider these income sources, they were not taken into account when determining whether a person fell below the line, which is $22,314 for a family of four.
However, the Census Bureau does calculate what impact this assistance would have had if it were measured. Food stamp benefits would have lifted 3.9 million people out of poverty had that aid been counted as income.

"Yesterday, it was announced that an astounding 1 in 6 Americans are living in poverty (http://news.yahoo.com/census-us-poverty-rate-swells-nearly-1-6-142639972.html). President Obama's response? To demand a tax on donations to soup kitchens and other charities that help people desperately in need. The President's proposal will impact approximately 40% of all the tax deductible contributions, and essentially penalize soup kitchens, hospitals, and churches that provide essential services to those who need them most. It’s no wonder this tax hike has been rejected on both sides of the aisle."

I really wish McCain had won the election. It would have been the first time that the Republicans would have been forced to clean up their own mess. As it is, they put in tax policies and deregulations that destroyed America, and now they get to blame somebody else for the results. Of course, who can remember the last time a Republican stood up and took responsibility for the failure of their ideas?
And now they get to tell the rubes that more tax cuts for the rich and more deregulations for the pirates will cure everything. And the suckers are lapping it up.

Here's what 'poverty' ain't, according to 80% of America:
A family in the U.S. that has a decent, un-crowded house or apartment to live in, ample food to eat, access to medical care, a car, cable TV, air conditioning and a microwave at home.

A min wage job before taxes at 40 hours for 52 weeks is around 15k. While certainly not enough by itself for an adult, supplememtal income can put that over 25K with overtime and other jobs.

Alot of employers are choosing to hire part time instead of full time at minimum wage, and are not paying overtime. Its quite common. In most places, you have to provide your own transportation to and from work as well, especially if you are working multiple jobs. That expense is a large percentage of a minimum wage income. Add food, clothing, and living expenses (not to mention healthcare), and you eat that income up pretty quick.

Well, to be truly middle class, a household has to have probably $70-80k as income, and health care.

It is scary. The poverty rate rose 26 percent under Bush and it's on pace to beat that hands down under Obama. Meanwhile, incomes at the top have seen a steady double digit gains under both Presidents. I'm reminded of Sarah Palin. Yes, Sarah Palin.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/10/us/10iht-currents10.html?_r=2
So here is something I never thought I would write: a column about Sarah Palin’s ideas.
There was plenty of the usual Palin schtick — words that make clear that she is not speaking to everyone but to a particular strain of American: “The working men and women of this country, you got up off your couch, you came down from the deer stand, you came out of the duck blind, you got off the John Deere, and we took to the streets, and we took to the town halls, and we ended up at the ballot box.”
But when her throat was cleared at last, Ms. Palin had something considerably more substantive to say.
She made three interlocking points. First, that the United States is now governed by a “permanent political class,” drawn from both parties, that is increasingly cut off from the concerns of regular people. Second, that these Republicans and Democrats have allied with big business to mutual advantage to create what she called “corporate crony capitalism.” Third, that the real political divide in the United States may no longer be between friends and foes of Big Government, but between friends and foes of vast, remote, unaccountable institutions (both public and private).
In supporting her first point, about the permanent political class, she attacked both parties’ tendency to talk of spending cuts while spending more and more; to stoke public anxiety about a credit downgrade, but take a vacation anyway; to arrive in Washington of modest means and then somehow ride the gravy train to fabulous wealth. She observed that 7 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the United States happen to be suburbs of the nation’s capital.
Her second point, about money in politics, helped to explain the first. The permanent class stays in power because it positions itself between two deep troughs: the money spent by the government and the money spent by big companies to secure decisions from government that help them make more money.
“Do you want to know why nothing ever really gets done?” she said, referring to politicians. “It’s because there’s nothing in it for them. They’ve got a lot of mouths to feed — a lot of corporate lobbyists and a lot of special interests that are counting on them to keep the good times and the money rolling along.”
Because her party has agitated for the wholesale deregulation of money in politics and the unshackling of lobbyists, these will be heard in some quarters as sacrilegious words.
