I was wondering why Haggan was out there. Miller was far from the most worthy of replacement out there ffs.

Probably didn't want to risk injury in a game we already lost.

I'm guessing he was gassed. Rahim Moore was too.

Haggan was getting reps at MLB and SLB. Not much to see here.

I thought it was rotation, not a benching.

the big problem with fox from day one is his love affair with getting veterans on the field as opposed to the best player...mario has earned the right to replace the guy who in his first real NFL play caused a fumble?

Von's still a work in progress on the run. Considering they were running the ball most of the game, and Von seemed to be doubled on his side anyways guess it makes sense.

Hope it's not a big deal and that Von continues to see action though.

The game really wasn't lost until the Raiders got the second first down on the final drive. Still scratching my head on this one.

Pass rushers rely on speed to get to the passer. He probably was struggling with the inclimate weather and they felt a stronger guy would be more effective.

WTF?!?!

They had better not pull this shyte again.

John Fox n LB Mario Haggan replacing LB Von Miller:

“He’s a young player, and Haggan is more of a veteran player—just trying to mix that up. Mario has earned that right.”

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2011/09/13/complete-john-fox-reaction-to-broncos-loss-to-raiders/9578/

So, because Mario Haggan is a veteran, he has "earned the right".

So Fox has an allegiance to veterans. Maybe that's the odd reason why Orton is starting over Tebow as well.

Von was the first Broncos linebacker I've seen actually wrap up on a tackle in ****ing years.

It's pretty weak to characterize what happened as "benching."

What would you call it?

Did he start? Yes.
Did he get injured? No.
Was it a blow out? No.

That defines a benching.

If that's true then Royal and Decker get "benched" every time they go two tight end.

You should learn to read. Notice the period before "Mario?" Do you know what it means? It means what comes after it is a complete, separate statement. There is no indication that "Mario earned the right" specifically because he is a veteran.

this is a complete reversal from what we have been told. What happened with speed LB's? This might have something to do with our DL not being able to hold the POA, so now they thought bigger LB's could shed the blocks... But we see how well that worked.

Von and Doom were out on obvious running situations starting in the 2nd quarter until the game ended. That left Woodyard, Mays, and Haggan playing LB. They sucked

What I don't think anybody is talking about is that Hunter SUCKS!!! He couldn't hold the edge, got pulled to the inside on a lot of running plays.

I saw Miller taking a hard charge at the QB, only to take himself out of the play when they ran right inside him. It happened a couple of times.

Miller is a pass rush specialist, in a game against a team that was gashing us with the run. I can dig it.

Too bad Bowlen didn't have the balls to insist Shanahan relinquish his GM duties and just coach. In sind sight that would have been best for the Broncos. Hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel right now.

I think Haggan would be better than Mays at this point. He's been pretty solid for us in the past. Nothing special but a good player.

Kinda hard to play LB when you have OL in your face right at the snap. Happened all night on the strong side, and Mays was fighting through it quite a bit too. The problem is the interior DL not LB and you saw that when they ran outside and counters.
