A TOUCH small for a tackle.

Oh well... can't be any worse than Herb.

I think his future is at G. Big upgrade from Taylor, imo.

Which would make sense. If one of the tackles go down, Beadles has shown he can at least stop-gap the tackle position decently well.

I really liked Hills out of Texas, and all the Pittsburgh radio guys around here were really high on the guy. Good signing.

Quick question, how did Pat afford this?

Lets hope his contract has no performance incentives in it

Seems odd that he hasn't started though with as many problems Pitt has had with injured O-linemen.

He's a o-lineman I hoped we went after. Good signing.

We no longer have Hillis, but now we have Hills!

IIRC, Hills himself got hurt at some point, missing significant time. But I could be wrong.

Article from this summer:

He was a good player at Texas. Mean streak.........He has also had to overcome a'lot. Solid young pickup with some good upside.

Stox likes! Need many more of these types of "trade ups" to keep improving depth.

Hills reported to training camp in what he said is the best shape of his life, and here is where it gets a little humorous.

He also showed up weighing close to 330 pounds, around 15 more than what he usually carries on his 6-foot-5 frame.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin promptly assigned the fourth-year veteran to a 7 a.m. workout group, reserved for players who arrived at St Vincent College too big or out of shape.

Tomlin soon realized that Hills didn't need the extra work. Indeed, Hills had lowered his body fat to 13 percent during the offseason it had been in the 20s, he said while adding the extra weight.

Since when is 6-5 330 small for any position in the NFL???

maybe the broncos should try him at guard as they need depth there.

Hell, they list Orlando Franklin at 6'-7" 330 lbs. At the combine, his measurements were 6'-5" 316.

Oh, I almost got excited but one damn I was missing. You can't have HillIs without I in it. Herb Taylor, former Chief, got cut again. Maybe he will be our new Chad Mustard.

Right! Changing the subject just a bit, but this Tony didn't have an "s" on the end of his name: Tony HILL was a fine player for the Cowboys during his career. He teamed with Drew Pearson and Golden Richards to give Roger Staubach three nice targets, all with home run potential. Pearson belongs in the HOF, IMO, as does Rod Smith of the Broncos. Both were great possession receivers, who could gain lots of yards after the catch!

Listed at 305, but yeah, meant to bump this.

Fox was on Sirius last night and called him big at 321 lbs AND said they brought him in to project as a RT not a LG where he'd been getting reps in Pitt.

Well at least we have some proof that they're aware of the issue and tried to address it...
