Tebow is number 2!

I really like the defense, but I think Nate Irving would have beaten Haggan and HAM could have beaten Vickerson if healthy!

nice to see Tebow #2, he deserved it after Quinn's abomination last game. Also surprised that Irvine is after Haggan though. We could really use another corner to back up bailey and goodman though, hope we pick one up and drop mitch unrein.

Also, we are stacked at WR, deepest I think I've ever seen the Broncos, cant wait to see what it looks like when D. Thomas makes his way back into the lineup as well.

No shocker that Quinn is at #3 after that horrid performance.

I am very intrigued to see what happens with the roster moves that will inevitably happen in the next 48 hours. With us having the #2 priority, we should have almost any guy we want.

I would like to get rid of Urein for another DT from waviers.

As long as they have less then 4 years of service. The "old guys" become FA's

Agree with the O-bums, but I'd replace your D-bums with McBean, Haggan and McBath, respectively.

Looking at that, there's almost no way they won't bring in some help at CB.

Is Irving being behind Haggan the only surprising thing that happened today?

Why is that surprising?

Was wondering the same thing. Not sure what Irving has shown so far to put himself ahead of Haggan.

I'm really surprised that Mohamed made the team.

I thought he was the worst Broncos player among many terrible Broncos players in the last preseason game.

He learned all three LB spots in training camp as a rookie and played all three in the preseason I think. Not too bad, he has value as a utility LB, SP player. I think Haggen goes before him.

Mohamed looked like he was incapable of playing at NFL speed. Doesn't matter what positions you learn if you're not quick enough to be where you're supposed to be.

Haggan is a valuable backup here.

Certainly hope Goodman doesn't get hurt - I'm not sure you can win with 10 guys on the field. :D

Chris HarrisI agree with this list. I'd also say that both Hunter and Haggan are weaknesses as well. They may be servicable, but they are also liabilities. I'm not sure that they would make another team's roster.

Why is that surprising?

Exactly. Irving is a rookie and I haven't really seen anything special out of him yet. Haggan is a solid player who can play four different positions for us, I'd say he deserves the number 2 spot.

It's definitely not surprising to see Quinn dropped the the third QB after his sh1t show in the last game.

Hey Xanders, I'll play CB for you in a pinch. All I need is the NFL veteran minimum and I don't mind carrying shoulder pads for 285 K.

I know Irving is a rookie but I honestly believe the coaches were hoping he would impress more then he has and fill the MLB starting position. I think it's good though to have him learn all 3 positions since he hasn't played or practiced well enough to earn the starting position. This gives him more value this year but also I think ultimately it will make him a better MLB in the long run, knowing what the other LB's jobs are. Still think we go after a MLB early in next years draft, along with CB and QB.

Bigdawg26

No Way! I am willing the bet anyone that our first round pick next year will be a QB! EFX will have a chance to get "their guy" at QB instead of the McDaniels hand overs they are putting up with!

Using this same serviceable but with caveats criteria, I think you have to include Larsen (of course), McBath, Ayers (who I havent given up on) and Mays. And only Larsen is at risk of not getting a roster spot anywhere else IMO.

I think the thing we have to remember is that so much of this roster needed changed. Arguably up to 15 starters (mostly D) from last year needed something new and improved and that goes hand in hand with a 4 win team. And you just cant turn over that many starters in one offseason. We had a good draft so its a start but this is a multi-year process.

Overall I am pleased with where we are but the fall off between the first team and second team is glaring at way too many positions. That is gonna hurt us at some point this year.

Don't I remember a rather large pile of BS that spouted up from a 'FAIR QB Competition' line of drivel?

Tim went 7 of 11 (63.5%) for 116 yds, 16.5 ypr in his last preseason game while scoring Denver's only TD.

Scam Newton Panthers Preseason: 24 of 57 (42.1%) with one TD.
That was apparently good enough to get him named the 2011 starter at Carolina.
====================

Brady Quinn - 22 of 42 (52.4%) for 276 yds (6.6 ypa) 2 TD's, 2 Ints, Long 26 yds, QB Rating 69.1

Kyle Orton - 28 of 42 (66.7%) for 408 yds, (9.7 ypa) 2 TD's, 1 Int, Long 42 yds, QB Rating 104.1

Tim Tebow - 20 of 31 (64.5%) for 310 yds, (10.0 ypa) 1 TD, 0 Int, Long 43 yds, QB Rating 108.3 <---<<<

So Tim wins the NFL QB Passer Rating race over a 5th year Vet BQ and an 8th year Vet KO.

* And he has a higher NFL QB Rating than the last two #1 draft picks to boot btw.

And that's before you add in his 8 2011 preseason carries for 56 yds, 6.9 ypc, Long 19 yds.
Again leading all Bronco runners in YPC.

Speculation:
Orton has a fixed 8 Mill/Yr contract in it's final year.
Tebow has an 'Incentive Based' contract that pays for play.

So screw Tim out of his 'fair QB competition' money while you are forced to pay Orton.

Next season you dump both Orton and Quinn and then 'claim' that Tim is finally 'ready' to play. What a total sack of BS imoho....

Nate Irving reminds of Niko in a way. He doesn't have any movement from side to side. Irvin is much more explsive than Niko but the same straight forward type of play. That works great for runs up the middle but not much for tracking down a run on the edges.
