WR Demaryius Thomas has been cleared to practice. Thomas had been expected to be placed on the PUP list and not practice until Week 6. But GM Brian Xanders said that Thomas' preparation during the lockout and over the last five weeks doing explosive moves on his surgically-repaired Achilles removed doubt. Really? Is that why he gave away a decent WR for nothing.

Good point.

However, as of right now it looks like we have our top three picks being immediate starters and contributors. When is the last time the Broncos can say they had their first three picks come out the gate and earn starting positions?

Every rookie (besides Beal) made the team, and they will all be getting some good experience.

We have some other exciting young players that Xanders has been a part of in the past too.

Think positively man. Sprinkle in a few more youth pieces offensively and defensively this coming draft and we could have a solid foundation.

Basically the argument comes down to whether or not you value Gaffney more as a receiver than Willis.

Right now I'm feeling fairly good about our drafting future. But the rest of our personnel moves (or lack thereof) leave me less than satisfied. It's almost as if we have two separate GMs. The one drafting players is pretty awesome. The one signing free agents and making trades is an imbecile.

Only one of those guys had 800 yards receiving last year.

And actually it really doesn't come down to that at all. I value him more than Brady Quinn. All he needs is a roster spot. It wouldn't have to be Willis'.

Pretty sweet isn't it. But to be fair we were holding the streak of the longest time without a top 10 draft pick.

That was a pretty questionable trade when it happened. Now that they dumped the guy they traded him for, I think it's fair to be critical.

Thank you.

Reports were at the time, that he was going to be cut anyway for salary reasons. I'm sure EFX thought they might as well roll the dice on a former high draft pick that wasn't working out with another team, and fill a position of need in camp.

It didn't work out, it happens.

Really? Is that why he gave away a decent WR for nothing.

So we have the makings of what could be the kind of draft that turns a franchise around for the better. Three day-one starters (unheard of for the Broncos, in my memory, anyway.), a couple of potential starters later on(Irving, J. Thomas), not to mention the star potential in Von Miller and possibly J. Thomas.

So did HE solely draft those players. If so, then he gets the credit.
Of course not, they drafted those players...as in EFX.

Just like they made the trade. I assure you that Xanders had the blessings of Fox and Elway when that trade was made.

How do I know? Because he doesn't have the power to make that trade with out their say so. So blame them, not he.

They saved $2 mil on the cap by cutting him and they're $20 mil under the cap.....so no, that literally cannot be it. They thought they had more at WR then they really do and they got desperate for anything at DT. They panicked, plain and simple.

I dont know BB, Klis said the team was prepped to cut Gaff and Hill before the trade went down. Obviously Hill was later cut.
