Another McD player bites the dust............we trade a bust of a second round pick for a player to be cut one year later.... As each day goes by it becomes more and more apparent how much damage the little arsehole has done to this organization......... :unamused:

Yes, exactly, ranks right there w/ the Peyton Hillis trade.....and trade up to get Richard Quinn.......as you know we could go on and on......lends credence that this was all and evil plan by Belecheat to plant a mole in the one organization that was a pain in his arse.

Did he even get to play at all? I honestly dont remember seeing him in any games!

He played a bit. It was weird, he was wearing a # in the 40s so you really didn't think of him as a TE when he was in there. He had a few balls go his way but didn't do anything to make anyone notice him.

Looks like Virgil Green will be making this team. They must like his upside.

There will be about a half dozen players that make this team on cutdown day, but won't be with us in week one. We're going to bring in some depth... we have to!

The Broncos can ill-afford to risk putting Green on the PS because I'm sure another team would snatch him up.

Green, Thomas and whoever else that is competent of blocking. The first two are extraordinary pass catchers who are still raw but could cause some mismatches for us. I hope it can be successful. Their potential reminds me of what Gronkowski and Hernandez were able to do for the Patriots last year.

He doesn't take up a roster spot on PUP, it means he will be inactive for week 1, but can then be reinstated at any time until week 6, in week 6 he will either have to moved to the roster or sent to IR.

On the PuP list, he DOES NOT take up a roster and is not eligible to be activated until after Week 6. Once Week 6 comes the team has a 3-week window in which he can practice without taking up a roster spot. During that 3-week period they can choose to activate him and then waive/IR someone else to open the roster spot or they can place him on IR and end his season.

IDK. Yeah, what to do with Demaryius puts the BBT into a tough situation. Keep him PUP and try to sneak a promising guy like Riley through? I don't think DThomas is eligible for IR, yes/no? They have to PUP Demaryius or cut him??? IDK

I agree, he's going to be ginger with it this year even if they push him back early. And at his position needing so much burst and leaping ability lets make sure he is 110% and confident before throwing him in there too early.

Doubt we are going to the big show this year anyway, let some of the other WR develop and unless a fully healed ( for once ) D Thomas next year.

Pretty ****ing sad when our two thinnest units are the two units that require the most guys on the field at the same time.

We lose one OL starter and we're looking bad. We lose two and we're completely ****ed. We lose Champ and we're completely ****ed. The FO is taking nearly as big a risk at both OL and CB as McDaniels took at OL last year. That didn't turn out so well for us.

There really isn't much choice given the talent voids left by Shanny and McD. you can only upgrade so much. At least we have decent starters there now which was the focus of the off-season.

Ask Detroit if he is a bust? Suck ass draft pick for us and a suck ass trade.

I had heard last yr he was playing so well in Detroit, so I tuned in and watched 2 games at the end of the yr. He was basically getting burnt every play so I didn't see the good play. Don't mistake interceptions for good play, sometimes bad players get them.

Not saying he won't end up good only that he was getting torched last season when I watched him.

They'll claim a guy or two - but easily the thinest position on the team now outside of OL.

We're in a pickle if you ask me. I'm really concerned about the abbreviated camp. Injuries are bound to come from it. Our starting roster is so paper thin. The depth at the lines are a joke. I realize that not much could be done in one season.

These coaches are going to have to be smart with rotations during the first part of the season. If you ask me, many of these players still really aren't in go-all-out football shape.

I remember when people on here wanted to trade one of our extra 2nd's to Arizona for Gabe.

In my opinion, with Denver cutting Eron Riley, Anderson and Britt, Denver is going to go alot of 2 TE sets and a power running game. No way we are going to be a pass happy team with only 4 WR's on the squad...... Unless we do the unheard of and start throwing the ball to our TE's, Something that has not happened in a number of years.

I do not understand all the hate for Mohamed, Guy was our leading tackler vs Arizona, last I saw in the early 4th qtr he has 10.5 total tackles.

Rollin' down the depth chart it is exciting to see the youth there. Outside Dawkins, all of our safeties are extremely young.

Definitely need to invest in a young corner or a free agent next off-season. That depth his scary, even if Thompson didn't tear his Achilles.

Three rookie linebackers: Mohammed, Irving and Miller. I'd get another MLB/WLB in the draft next year early and call it solid.

Hopefully Green and Thomas can be our Gronkowski and Hernandez.

Excited for our receivers.

Knowshon, McGahee and Ball is a very good 1, 2 and 3 punch.

Denver going with five receivers is undoubtedly a sign that they feel Thomas and Green can get proper repetitions in the passing game.

Since Demaryius won't be back for a while, we will only have four healthy receivers on the roster barring injury.

This tells me we are going to see an emphasis on getting tight ends the ball. Look at what New England did last year with Gronkowski and Hernandez.

Thomas and Green aren't near as ready as they were coming into NFL -- but they have the talent and will pose serious threats offensively.

Any QB, whether it is a rookie or veteran needs a quality safety valve option at TE.

We have lacked this for a long time now. Jeb Putzier was probably our last best tight end threat and he was an average NFL player.

HERE'S TO GREEN AND THOMAS BUSTING IT UP!

Its worth keeping in mind that a lot of people who are being cut, are backups to starters. Some of the headscratchers might be expected to contribute more on special teams. Even though they play a limited number of plays, STs starters are still kind of starters (relative to offensive and defensive starters).

In other words, it seems like they asked themselves whether they want someone who will start on special teams over a guy who will be a back up to an offensive or defensive starter.

Obviously, that is where he made the team, and EFX thinks he might have potential.

However, according to the Mane brain-trust, when you are a rookie 6th rd LB in your 4th pre-season game, you are expected to play like Al Wilson in his prime, or you suck balls and you will never be a quality player.

Fox, too... and I think McBath deserves to make the team after the game he had. Pero, I'd probably take McCarthy over Bruton as a safety... IDK about special teams with the new kickoff rule.

I think I'm the only one around here that has been throwing around the idea of moving McBath - who ran a 4.47 40 with a 1.52 10-yard split - to corner. (He's quick enough.) It's harder to move from Safety to Corner than the other way around, though.

Only 8 players over 30:
Brandon Lloyd - 30
Ty Warren (injured for most the year) - 30
Mario Haggan - 31
Champ Bailey - 33
Andre Goodman (done after this year, IMO) - 33
Russ Hochstein (who's garbage anyway) -33
Lonie Paxton (who's a long snapper) - 33
Brian Dawkins - 37

Anyone have a stat on that? We are quite possibly the youngest team in the NFL. Lloyd probably has 5 good years left in him, Bailey seems to believe he has 4-5 more good years left in him, Warren will come back and should be productive for a few more years... the rest are utility players who wouldn't be devastating detractions.

We're a team with nowhere to go but up, and I think it's a good thing to be optimistic about the future given our youth and our solid staff.

Should have kept these guys on the 53-man, and expected these to be cut/moved to the P-Squad. Two I'm not shocked were cut, but thought they had a shot are; L.Robinson has been the #2 SLB and D.Gronkowski as the 3rdTE and 2ndFB.
A few guys that should be cut/replaced before the season starts are;
OL - Taylor is bad and Hochstein completely sucks az. Ramirez isn't good, but it seems they want him as the backup OC/OG.
RB - I don't know what anyone sees in Ball except a blocker on kickoffs, a position now irrelevant. He has zero quickness, power or speed.
WR - Thomas has never been quick, fast or even a moderate WR (no idea how he was drafted first day), yet he's on the roster because Xanders thinks he's showing great burst now that he's had an achilles rupture? Are you F'n kidding me? PUP him and mid-season the Broncos can decide then if they need a 5th/6th WR or cut him.

DL - McBean is the DL version of Hochstein
LB - Haggan has never been more than a sub-average backup and SP-Ts player, yet it looks like he beat out Robinson for the #2 SLB spot -- unless Mohamed locked that down and Haggan is 3rd/SP-Ts where he belongs. Either way, we'd be better getting a rook to develop in that role than keep wasting time on Haggan.

I've never seen Thomas "play like a beast" whether in college, NFL preseason or last season. All I've seen is a lousy WR with zero quickness, route running ability, moderate speed and suspect hands that might get a shot as a 5th/6th out of potential due to his size and ability to win a jump ball. Right now, Green fills that role.

teknic - "Did you not see Thomas play like a beast last season? Not fast? He runs a 4.3 40. If he can stay healthy, he looks like a legit #1 receiver."

And Thomas has never been a "4.3" receiver. He ran 4.5s for the scouts pre-draft, looked that fast in college and the NFL. Rumors of 4.3 speed came from his agent and have never been witnessed in tryouts or games.
Guy's a scrub that most any team wouldn't consider until the 4th round or later and been cut by now.

Worst poster ever. MacGruder is atleast funny to read at times.

You really need to stop posting like you know anything about football or the talent it takes to play it. It's painful...

This.

Maybe be a team player and switch positions? ???

Perhaps the role of "Lurker" would accentuate your best abilities.
