View Full Version : People in the NFL that you hate!

Okay, I honestly thought about starting a thread about the one guy who bugs me more than anyone else in the NFL - someone who I despise to an unhealthy level.

Mike Brown.

I figured that a thread about Mike Brown might not go far, though. So I thought I would open it up for suggestions - not that anyone you could suggest would be more despicable than Mike Brown.

I admit that I have a weird fixation with Mike Brown. The guy just bugs me. He's cheap. He's arrogant. He's ignorant. I admire Bengals fans. I don't think I could do it. As a fan of that team, the only thing you can hope for is for Mike Brown to die.

So, who is on your list?

Alber Haynesworth? Well, he's a good choice. But no.

Jamie Dukes? Ugh. He might be second.

But Mike Brown? I got thinking about him (again) watching the ten year Hard Knocks special on HBO. Did anyone catch the clip where he gets the Bengals players together to talk about contract holdouts? What a colossal douchebag. He basically says, "If you hold out, you will be described as one thing: a welcher. Everyone in the league and in business circles will hate you."

Of all the things to say to your team, that's what you choose? No wonder you never win.

The film apparently cuts off before he says, "On the other hand, if you get injured a year into your five-year contract, we will kick you to the curb!"

So, who is on your all-time hate list? It could be players, coaches, management, media - pretty much anyone in history who has been associated with the game?

And, if you want to chime in about Mike Brown - well, we can work each other into a frenzy.

Yeah, he's the obvious choice. But I'll defend him.

At least he wants to win. You could argue that he wants it so desperately, he sabotages his team in the process. I think he's selfish; and greedy; and a little dumb (at least in his old age); and obviously completely hideous.

Mike Brown does not care about winning. He cares about his ego, and his imaginary battles.

AFC West foes. (Oddly this does not extend to Seattle, even when they were in the AFC west...go figure).

Dan Snider. From what I have read he has made it very hard to be a fan for redskins fans.

Hates a bit extreme but I have an extreme dislike for Brett Favre. Oh, and Bob Slowik.

Of course I don't dislike Al for what he does for his team but I do dislike the joke he has made the organization. I do respect what he did in the early days. On a side dislike, Tom Brady. Ever since John Lynch made him his crying little "Derrick Thomas" b**** in the playoff game I lost any respect I might have had for him. He's a phony.

As someone who has lived in Cincinnati his whole life ... You pretty much nailed it Dom.

I was born in 1975 and became a Broncos fan the day of The Drive and always wondered how Bengals fan do it. Every year they get all pumped up and every year it's the same crap.

But even just hearing Mike Brown talk makes me want to punch a clown/puppy/baby... /sarcasm . But he is by far the worst owner in sports.

THE ONLY thing I know of him doing cool , AND I personally didn't think he should of was he was real good to Chris Henry and brought him back that last time , and I never would have. But Mike talked very highly of Chris and from what I hear around town tried like hell to help Chris grow up...

mormons aren't racist... right.

It says a lot about your character that you have to come skulking back here under a different name after a ban - but whatever. Character doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Brigham Young also said: "For their abuse of the Black African race, the whites will be cursed, unless they repent."

It's a complex issue that can't very well be summarized with a quote - no?

And, using your logic, we could drag out lots of ill-advised quotes about race from the founding fathers. Many of them actually owned slaves. They were all horrible men, right? And, since you're an American, I suppose you must be racist? (A rhetorical question - I don't think you're interested in intelligent discussion - or "intelligent" anything.)

But again, I choose to focus on recent events. So, recent events? This article (http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/2000.htm/ensign%20september%202000.htm/no%20more%20strangers.htm?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0) from the LDS Church's official magazine (Ensign) directly addresses the issue of race and the church. If you were interested in actually learning more than the 150-year-old sound byte you referenced earlier, this would be a good starting point. A highlight:
"The sin of racism will be eliminated only when every human being treats all others with the dignity and respect each deserves as a beloved child of our Heavenly Father."
Today, people of all races enjoy full membership in the LDS Church - and they occupy some of the most prominent positions of leadership in the church.

You will not care about any of that. You are just looking for contention. But I figured it might be helpful to address it for the sincere, intelligent people who might be reading this.
