According to USA Today, via SportsBusiness Daily, Eisen no longer will be hosting Total Access.

Eisen will continue to host the network’s on-site game coverage, and he’ll anchor the marathon coverage of Sunday regular-season games.

He’ll also focus on his popular podcast, which is now also a telecast. Even though it’s still called a podcast. (I’m still not up to speed on these newfangled tech terms.)I'm going to listen to his podcast. NFL Network is run by a dick head. Starting with Schefter, this will be its undoing.

Rumor is they are going to change to do more in-home (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/29/new-look-total-access-features-co-hosts-in-home-cameras-for-analysts/)interviews ala the now defunct show "The Brink".

You suck, NFL Network. SUUuuuKKK

All that is left is to kick Mayock off their draft coverage.

TailgateCrazy was just hired, and they're just going to go with segments on gay hate, Mexican hate, Muslim hate, and Christian hate.

Welp, guess the only thing it's good for anymore will be replays. I can catch my Schefter news via his twitter account.

First Schefter, now Eisen. He's what made Total Access enjoyable to watch. Also enjoyed his yearly 40 yard run at the combine. Can't remember if he did it again at this combine.

2 down 1 more to go. What's the over/under on Mayock leaving?

It won't be the same with Fran doing it

Good news is, with Eisen gone we'll get to see more of Jamie Dukes.

I know that's Sapp. I put it there for the facial expression. Plus he's on NFL network and you know he loves the camera, so figured he be shocked to here Dukes getting the camera time and not Sapp.

I never thought I'd say this but I like Warren Sapp the most out of anyone at the NFLN. He actually provides some pretty level-headed and non-biased analysis, and generally seems to know what he's talking about.

The NFL is totally dropping the ball on their network.

They are keeping it running on out of date top 10 lists, cheerleader tryouts, reruns of old training camps and Jamie Dukes.

Why not fill progamming by hosting:
1- HOF hour long documentary that shows or describes these guys era's and their footage.

2 - More old games, maybe tack on a 30 minute pregame that explains the history around the game.

3 - Hire Ken Burns to do a major doc on the history of the NFL.

4 - Do a strategy show that explains the plays and or schemes

5 - Do a show on the great stadiums and or owners

Then throw in the other crap they have on.

It makes me wonder if Dukes takes the bare minimum just to stay on the show..cause no other network will hire his sorry ass! The dude is retarded.

Anyone remember when he dogged on Chris Johnson..then CJ called the show and called him out?? Dukes practically **** his pants..it was classic!

After the brilliant move of placing NFL Films (one of the most respected organizations in all of pro sports) under the control of NFLN, and then basically gutting them...nothing they do would suprise me anymore. BS "top 10" programming straight from the "10 second attention span" douchbags at ESPfN. It is unreal how epically they fail on a regular basis. They have one of the top products in all of sports/entertainment worldwide with a rich tradition and just happen to have folks working for them that have won a rediculous number of Emmys. So do we set the standard for sports league programming utilizing said tools? Nah, we'll just continue to employ other Tools (I'm talking about you here Mr. Dukes) and put out a substandard product, 'cause...well, you know....we can. A-holes. Dukes can sport his "don't these glasses make me look smart" look all he wants, but nothing can save his ass once he opens his suck.

But gee...isn't that what the HOF show is for? (dripping sarcasm here)

2 - More old games, maybe tack on a 30 minute pregame that explains the history around the game.
But that wouldn't leave any time for our baseless/useless top 10 shows that are just conceived to stir up the fan bases. (unfortunately, no sarcasm)

3 - Hire Ken Burns to do a major doc on the history of the NFL.
He'd never touch it (unfortunately). The NFL is far to interrested in profit for KB to get into bed with them. Besides do you really think the efeminate little **** actually likes football? Seriously.

4 - Do a strategy show that explains the plays and or schemes
Nah. That would require serious analysis and might offend the majority of our viewers. (need proof? Look at what has happened to in depth football talk around the OM. How many Tebow threads did this drop into the middle of?)

5 - Do a show on the great stadiums and or owners
Whoa Nelly, we can't think that forward. If it couldn't run on ESPfN news between commercials, it is too long. (By the way, why not do an in depth show on the status/state of affairs of each franchise/division in the League during the off season? Using former players from said teams/divisions to narrate/discuss in round table type discussions.)

Then throw in the other crap they have on.
How about...um.....THROW OUT the other crap they have on. (Including one Mr Dukes)

Sorry for the highjack, BroncoSteven. I just despise what ESPN has done to sports TV. NFLNetwork is a prime example of it. Short attention span theatre, pretty much like everything has become anymore.

Yeah, but IMO it's still better than ESPN, well most of the time anyway. What really sucks is the way they've dissed Steve Sabol and NFL Films. To me, NFL Films was a great asset to the NFL, with the past format and didn't need changing!! The late great golden-throated narrator, John Facenda was the ABSOLUTE BEST!! He and Ed Sabol, Steve's Dad, were priceless working together!

Steve and Alec, I completely disagree. I don't find Eisen either smug or suck. He's pretty self-depreciating, so I don't get the smug factor, and he frequently calls out Jamie Dukes on his crap. Rich Eisen is a man's man.:afro:

I like Eisen, I think he's funny and entertaining.

I don't have cable and don't watch tv so I'm not to upset about it, but it does suck.

I HATE ESPN, and also just get my Shefter info through Twitter. It was a shame when he left to join those dbags at ESPN.

3 - Hire Ken Burns to do a major doc on the history of the NFL.

Not a bad idea, though the NFL ran a excellent and pretty thorough documentary on its history on TNT during the 75th anniversary season. Still, that was back in '94, so maybe there is a fresh angle Burns could take with it.

I agree with both you and Alec. I don't think he is smug at all. However, on the "football knowledge scale", he seems to be at the low end to me. Additionally, I think his interviewing sucks and is very amature. He just doesn't ask good questions (probably due to his lesser knowledge), IMO.
