:Nice 3-and-out.

The defense has played very well so far, and the offense has only put 7 points on the board.

That's the same problem that the Broncos had through the first several weeks of the season last year.

Encouraged by the D, but Tavaris is awful

Agreed. But add in John Fox and Dave Magazu also.

Any word on Williams/Bunkley? :-/

They think Williams has a sprained left elbow. I think its broken. Bunkley's knee and they haven't given an update yet, but only to say he hut the wall walking down the tunnel.

Orton looked decent on that possession. Royal dropped an easy catch on first down, he made an excellent check down throw for 9 yards, and the line crapped the bed on 3 and 1.

Nothing Orton throws is an "easy" catch. He threw a bad ball to Larsen about two series back. He threw a bad one to Royal that damn near skipped on its way there the last series. He overthrew Lloyd on the bomb he tried. He makes a 280 pound TE need to make a quick spin to turn and catch that last pass. He puts it where guys can make plays. For someone like Lloyd and to a lesser extent Decker, Royal, and Thomas that gets you by. But he rarely delivers a great pass that is easy for a receiver to catch and run with.

TBF Red Bryant is one of the best run defenders out there. That was more playcalling than anything else. You always run to the other side of him when you need short yardage cos he'll just blow that side of the line up.

Not a good game from Orton.

This looks exactly like last year's offense.

Check downs into punts. Not enough points put on the board for the amount of posessions.

Agree. They move the ball, make first downs but can't put enough points on the board. It isn't really inspired play at all from anyone on the offense. Seems like they are going through the motions.

On a side note, Warren Moon is a pretty decent color commentator. He knew a lot about the Broncos and wasn't stupidly biased like most pre-season commentators.

Agreed.

Good drive with Orton completing that to Decker with tight coverage.

Give Orton time and he will do okay, but he falls apart under pressure. Much like Brady did tonight against Detroit.

144 yards with one trip to the red zone. One.

This is the problem with Orton.

If we had been playing a better team, they would have tied the score up at half time and then they would overcome us by the end of the fourth quarter.
