for the Buffalo Bills grew worse on Wednesday following an ankle injury to rookie defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.

Dareus was seen in the locker room with crutches and his ankle wrapped heavily, according to the Buffalo News. He reportedly suffered the injury Wednesday.

The Associated Press reports the Bills are awaiting test results to find out how serious the injury is.

The No. 3 overall pick has looked as good as advertised thus far, with two sacks in the preseason. Buffalo has a lot of injuries right now; three of their starting linebackers missed practice Wednesday and two of their top three receivers are hurt.

Losing Dareus for an extended period would be a huge setback for the rebuilt defense.

Big guys get hurt alot. He may be too fat, he looks a little chubby to me.

An ankle injury because he's too fat?

Not sure I've heard that before. Interesting theory, I guess.

Sucks he got hurt in practice. You at least want to go down in a game. Going down in practice just seems like it'd make it worse.

What one of his sacks might have looked like. High fives to Aborton for the assist.

Damn. I don't buy into that whole "he's a bust with them, so he'd be a bust with us thing." I always like to think certain guys would have flourished given different environments or coaches... (with rare exceptions like Leaf, Russell, etc)

I wish him luck... hope he does on to have a hall of fame career and that Von does so as well.

I saw him in the tunnel after the game and after he got dressed, wasn't limping. I hope he's allright.

Have you seen whether or not he was limping after the practice it says he hurt his ankle in?

He needed a heavy wrap and crutches for a kick. That is pretty funny. Who was it the kicker or something using his calf for practice?

Dude looked outstanding against Denver. He got double teamed alot and still made an impact. He's a hand full.

He's going to be very good. He was who we would have taken if Miller was gone. That sucks for the Bills.

This could put the Bills at the front of the pack in the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes.

They'd still have to get past the Bengals, and Dalton's looking like he could be worse than Clausen was last year.

yeah the only way the Bengals win more than two games this year is a weird flukey weather type game or if another teams flight does not make it too Cincy and the other team has to forfeit

Defense should be tough.

I think Buffallo is the worst team in the league by a large margin.

Just a point of order,
a) the linemen dictate the game of football.
b) a 315 lb man that plays every snap in combat, then chases a skinny fast dude is a tremendous athlete. A little belly fat has nothing to do with it, it's about how you play - every down. I'd give my left nut to have Wilfork on the team, and he looks like a Jenny Craig commercial.
c) Dareus seems like a really good kid, he isn't our guy anymore, but we shouldn't wish him ill health (save that for Philip Rivers).

Who wished him ill health? Certainly not me. Also when did I say that the big fellas don't dictate the game? And an extra 15 pounds of belly fat can slow the big fellas down and lead to injuries. I know I am one of the big fellas. When you are 6-5 and have a big frame you can add and shed pounds like crazy. Little people have no idea.

So what was your point really? just to make assumptions?

All that excess weight they pile on makes them more injury prone plus battling in trenches doesn't spell a long lasting career.

Look at how many first round "busts" the broncos have picked up from the scrap heap this year and over the past 10 years. Just shows how hard it is to nail the D line in the draft. IMO it is the hardest position to evaluate and it also seems to take some guys a few years to figure it out.
