Another head scratcher ... Rick Gosselin (I suspect) strikes again.

good article, the senior committee thing to me seems like a load of BS. the guy a few years ago that got in via senior committee (the cowboy) who had like 340 career receptions, when you have 8+ year pro bowlers who cant even get noticed.

All politics, no actual NFL merit in large part.

And Randy Gradishar continues to get a giant middle finger waved in his face for yet another year. What a joke...

They need to start telling the seniors committee to GTFO and stop rubber stamping the selections they nominate.

The Lions were great in the 50s so what's wrong with their dynasty getting more love when you are advocating the same thing for the 60s Packers (Kramer) and 70s Steelers (Greenwood)?

And Butler has a similar profile to Floyd Little, multiple All-Pro on a bad team.

I'm saying the writers ... Rick Gosselin in particular ... have their own agendas of who they want to get in AND the power to make it happen.

Gosselin covered the Lions, Chiefs and now Cowboys.

In 2007, he ranked the top 32 most deserving seniors candidates.

7 of the top 10 candidates he ranked played for the Lions, Chiefs and Cowboys. 14 of the 32 candidates (nearly 50 percent) played for the Lions, Chiefs and Cowboys.

He's been on the seniors committee since 2004. Seems like a lot of Lions, Chiefs and Cowboys have been nominated since ....

2004 senior nominee: Bob Hayes, Cowboys

2006 senior nominee: Rayfield Wright, Cowboys

2007: Charlie Sanders, Lions

2008: Emmitt Thomas, Chiefs

2009: Bob Hayes (again) Cowboys

2010: Dick LeBeau, Lions

2012: Dick Stanfel, Lions
