Albert Pike's "Morals and Dogma" is the main contributor, along with the persecution of the Templars and what you listed.

But I don't want to get banned so:

How do people think reps will shake out for this week's preseason game vs Sea?

Another home environment for the 1s and a pretty Seahawks team to play againt. Obviously Orton will get the lion's share this week, but how do reps for #s 2-4 shake out, in your eyes?

To be fair, the chances of him getting banned in this thread were probably several times more than any other based on the title alone.

Nice work, though.

I was thinking the same thing. Bob played a huge role in helping MacGruder get banned. How ironic is that? Hey Rev. Have you admitted to yourself that Baja and MacG are not the same person, or at least that it's highly unlikely?

agreed, i think to help shut some of the media up even just a little bit they'll play Tebow 2nd then Quinn 3rd, I'd say Orton gets a drive after halftime then the rest of the quarter for Tebow and most of the 4th for Quinn

A fleeting intuition leads me to believe that we only see Kyle Orton for the first half of the game, followed by Quinn for a quarter, and then Tebow for the fourth. I know that this is generally what you would expect for the second preseason game, but the only players that are really new to the system that aren't 4 year + veterans are on the offensive line. Kyle Orton has good chemistry with most of the receivers (note that he spent a good portion of the off season working with Eric Decker exclusively), so I don't think he will be in the game after the half. That should give the coaching staff a good opportunity to evaluate what Quinn can do with the 1's for the 3rd quarter. That leaved the 4th for guys battling to earn roster spots/backup roles on the team. Offensive line plays 3qtrs, full starting defense plays 3 qtrs with Dawkins, Champ, and Doom coming out after the half or midway through the third. To expound on the later statement Doom leaves for shear value purposes, Champ because they want a better look at Casius Vaughn against 1st stringers, and Dawkins because he's old. Kind of an obscure take but like I said, its a fleeting intuition.

There needs to be a clamp down on some of this ****, Broncos insiders are spinning to the media. It doesn't help the organisation at all. If Fox or Elway or whoever doesn't rate the kid, they need to keep their mouths firmly shut and deal with it inside the organisation and let the dice fall where they throw them.

If Orton's their guy just play him and **** up about it. They can deal with the media hype when and after we see who's playing and performing for real when games count.

The weird thing is that I thought Tebow signed off on Fox being the coach? And Fox supposedly liked him.. but having said that it could just as easily be that Fox doesn't know how to adapt to Tebow and needs Tebow to adapt to him.. as long as it takes to do that.

Early on in the offseason the word was the Broncos didn't want him.. then they said they were going forward with Tebow.. truly bizarre. It's almost like they are trying to piss him off..

I try to look at things simplistically. Here is a possible scenario. Orton gets hurt and they bring in Tebow (last year). He still can't digest the entire playbook, so they trim it down, out in some plays for him and he does ok. John and John look at film over the winter and see that he made some progress over the year with his mechanics and decisions and think they can help. They say they like Tebow and he has a future. They think that Tebow progressed during the season, with an offseason to continue improvements (even without the coaches), he could start and lead the team. J&J decide they can look for a suitor for Orton. He's in his last year, is average, they think Tebow can take over and they need picks for rebuilding. Miami is interested, though their offer is low. But J&J may be able to work with their offer. Orton talks to Miami and wants more than Miami is willing to offer. Training camp opens and all 3 QBs start. J&J realize that not only did Tim not improve, he regressed in his mechanics. He spent the summer writing his autobiography and selling books and doing cardio. He still can't digest the playbook. Now Orton is playing well. he has command of the huddle and the respect of the team. He is working hard and throwing the ball well. Brady is also looking good. he hired a QB coach over the summer so he is showing great improvement. Meanwhile, Tim still can't handle the playbook, struggles in accuracy and likes to improvise. He's losing some of the respect from the team. As camp goes on, Orton and Quinn continue to improve while Tim flounders some. The gap between their performance widens.

So in this scenario, J&J fully support Tebow and are looking for a trade partner. But realize that it is a mistake and kind of retract their support. Nothing bizarre or lacking integrity. Just the realization that Tebow didn't make the progress that he needed to.

Logical? Possible?

I'm suprised so many have missed this in terms of identifying the leak... there are TWO sources. Read the quotes:

As one highly knowledgeable member of the organization told me Monday, “If everything was totally equal, and this were a competition based only on performance at this camp, Tebow would probably be the fourth-string guy. Kyle [Orton] is far and away the best, and Tebow’s way behind Quinn, too. And I’m telling you, Adam Weber is flat-out better right now.”

AND

As one [B]high-ranking member of the Broncos’ organization said Monday: “Sometimes the best things that happen to you in life are the things that don’t happen.”

Why is it so awful to have Tim be JUST a goal line and special package threat? I think some of the Tebow fans are right that he could change the game... but that might come from the 3rd QB spot, not as a starter.

As long as he can help us win games, I want him on the team. I don't care if he's lining up at QB, RB, TE, DE, DT, CB or assistant coach in charge of headphones. If he can help the TEAM win games, I want him on the TEAM.

Yawn.

As soon as he wins the starting QB job, I'll be right there rooting for him. See, I'm a Broncos fan. Tebow helps the team most right now by coming in on short yardage and goal line situations. That's not a knock; he's just obviously not ready to be the guy under center.

I agree. Tebow put himself here in a lot of ways, but He really isn't ready to win in practice. If that's what the coaches want than great. I get it. I just really really believe that if he could at least do a series with the first team It would be a better judgement of him than practice. He just isn't a polished qb.

Agreed, but the coaches only want him to ad lib when the play breaks down. That is when he makes a correct read on whatever the key is (like where the strong safety lines up or takes off at the snap), but the defense has disguised itself so the coverage that he sees is different from what the read or key indicated it would be. Like when Elway took off for the helicopter. That's what practice is about: understanding the offense and using the same mechanics on every pass.

From what the Post reports, he is not executing the reads or the mechanics. The staff apparantly things that Tebow ad libbing, because he can't execute plays that should work if competently executed, will lose more games than it wins. And the only way not to agree is if you somehow think that this kid is somehow so unique that he doesn't even need an offensive scheme, which is stupid.

And that has nothing to do with Orton's mediocrity.

I think the broncos (and other teams') staffs are ok with the loopy delivery. Tebow's gonna have guys like Jason Taylor creating fumbles, but there's no disputing Tebow's other abilities when a play breaks down.

I agree the coaching skepticism is about his abilty to "know where to go." And, I also think that Tebow will get it eventually by carrying the clipboard and practicing. The whole thing about "EFX have given up, and he wasn't really their guy...." is nonsense. They just want a qb. His religion, who drafted him .... all meaningless to winning games.

But without consistent mechanics, his accuracy will never be as good as it could be, which seemed to be what Elway was doing with him. It's not really different from coaches working with kids on golf and tennis swings. Sure, when you have an uneven lie, you have to alter your swing. But the goal is for every teeshot to be the same because you choose the club to fit the wind and distance, and you want the ball to hook or cut, or not do either, to fit your swing the same way every single time. The only thing that bugged me about Tebow even before Den drafted him was ... why didn't he learn this stuff as a kid. It's like taking a jump shot. Practice over and over how to run down the floor and go vertical without setting up and losing momentum. Same thing running hurdles. It's hard to learn this consistency stuff as an adult. Tiger Woods and Agassi.

"But what about those three games where he played kinda ****ty but not the worst football we've ever seen before?"

Serious question: Are you retarded?
To me it seems more likely that a rookie will improve on his performance than to imagine that an 8 year vet is all of a sudden going to see the light.

I don't understand what's kind of shotty about 25 points/game. That would be 7th in the NFL.

So much better than Orton... that he can't get on the field.

Strong take as always.

Yeah! The best player always starts! That is why Hillis started here the past two years and wasn't ouperforming our players while on another team!

Of course, we could always look at the QB production under Fox run teams and show that he really knows what he is doing when it comes to QBs!

never said that. but the fact that even raw and crappy hes better than orton is why I want him.

case in point...during the dallas game the announcers were ripping tebow aboit gis terribke passes in the pregame warmup. they said dez bryant threw it better. when tebow was hit during his first pass they asked if it was tipoed or a "tebow" pass.

he than played great. threw screens, a come back and a peefect bomb and alsi had a td that was called back.

Scored a lot more points while being way more consistent. This, while also performing ten times better against two opponents that we had already played. Of course you don't think that shows anything. You loved McDaniels. You have proven that you don't even understand the basics of football.

Now you know how the chimps felt. Sorry buddy, but you haven't the faintest idea where I got my username.

So I'll fill you in.

Last season, during one of the games (I think against the Jets, but I can't be sure), the play by play announcer called him "the elusive Kyle Orton" after he ran for a gain of 7 or 8 yards, juking a guy in the process.

I thought that was funny, mostly because of his propensity NOT to be elusive. But I do still like the guy.

Nothing. I've seen plenty of Orton to know that he is what he is; a below average journeyman QB that will never lead a franchise anywhere.

You lambaste "faith", and yet you count on faith more than anyone here. It takes much more faith to imagine that Orton will somehow become something he's never been than it does to imagine he'll be the same guy he's always been.

It takes more faith to imagine that Tebow would get worse in each start than he was in his first 3 starts.

Anyone that asks for my number that doesn't need to know it gets this response. Not a single person has once even thought twice about it as they type away. Along those lines, Adam Schein always starts off with "warm it up Chris" for anyone with that name. "Uhhhh... alright."

P.S.- With regards to the 867-5309 joke (it was 30 years ago. We're just getting old. THAT'S why people don't get it!! LOL) I always thought it was funny when I lived in New Mexico (Hogan might remember this actually!) our prefix was actually 867 so I used that number CONSTANTLY and of course virtually no one ever got it.

Heck it was hard to blame 'em though given that my real number DID start with 867!!! Hilarious!

i knew a girl named Jenny with that phone number. true story.

the Cutler fanboys broke the site. first, they drove out the Plummer fanboys, then the Shanny fanboys. then the McD fanboys showed up and drove out the Cutler fanboys and invited in the Orton fanboys. then the Tebow fanboys arrived and that displeased the Orton fanboys greatly. the McD fanboys tried to login one day and were told to leave by the lone Bowlen fanboy. then the Elway fanboys were invited back. they invited the Fox fanboys.

what happened to the Hillis fanboys?

what happened to the Hillis fanboys?

Hillis is a minor character in this drama, not one of the leads.

same with the WR who "would hit a bitch" at the drop of a hat, the guy who made sammiches and took lie detector tests, the phone salesman, etc.

I'm still there pretty much every week brother!!!!
The streak of consecutive games (including those two years I had to drive up from NM Sat night and be back at work Monday!) came to an end a couple years ago but I'm still there most every week. Will miss the 10/9 game because I'll be out of town (seeing all 13 shows of the Dead's fall tour. I'm sure you have a comment about that one!! LOL) but other than that I'm planning on being at every game.

Awesome to see you're still here!!
You coming to town this year? Would love to see you and catch up!! How about Sassy? She still around I hope?
Hopefully will see you soon my friend!! Lemme know and I'll make sure you have my new number.

We're not around as much as we used to be, albeit for much different reasons. I do still check in from time to time, when I have time.

We'll be in town for the MNF Opener, as will many of the old crowd. Not sure where yet the tailgate will happen, a lot depends upon who shows up, who's willing to host, etc. etc. Check the Tailgate Forum for up to the minute details. PM me your number when you can and we'll get you to where we're at. :yayaya:

and I'll refrain from the Dead bashing.....for now ;)

I hear ya!! That's why I haven't been around all off season. Just aint the same as it was back in the day. But good to see some of the old crew still around!!

And my back forced me to retire early. Obviously the extra time is nice and I've gotten in a nice routine where I do as much volunteer work as possible but Lord knows I have my days where the pain just knocks me out.
That said no complaints. Through it all I've actually managed to find myself happier than I have been in a long time. Thanks for asking brother!
You still down below the border? Hope life is bringing you all that you want and deserve my friend.

Glad you are enjoying life bro. So sorry to hear about your back. The few times in my life when my back went out gave me a small taste of what it must be like. I remember praying for relief many times.

I read your response to Hogan glad to hear you are able to get to the games at least the Broncos have one real fan there. ;D

I think the Broncos are going to surprise a lot of people this year.

Take care Jake....
