In recent months -- new evidence has emerged that the US CIA and British intelligence destroyed democracy in the newly independent Congo in central Africa in 1961 - to gain control over the region's incredibly rich mineral wealth.
The US and Britain murdered the newly elected Patrice Lamumba and replaced him with the dictator Mobutu -- who left a trail of blood for 40+ years.
They also murdered the UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjöld who was attempting to support the legitimate leader Lamumba.
After the death of Lamumba and Hammarskjöld the Congo was plunged into civil war for the next 50 years -- and this still goes on.
The evidence in the case of the Congo shows that American rhetoric about supporting democracy is a lie -- propaganda. History is now being repeated in oil rich Libya.
