We live in the age of distraction. Yet one of life's sharpest paradoxes is that your brightest future hinges on your ability to pay attention to the present.

Such a shame to live in constant fear.

So now baja says it's over in October. Guess we should put a fork in the season now!

I think it's certainly apparent by now that one of the things I enjoy in life is excess... I like things that are excessive. I like excessive behavior, excessive language, excessive violence... it's fun. It's interesting. It's exciting. I like it when nature is excessive. That's why I like natural disasters. All these natural disasters that've been going on, I ****ing love 'em. I can't get enough of them. Ah, when nature's going crazy, throwing things around, scaring people and destroying property, I'm a happy ****ing guy. I'm a happy ****ing guy. I look at it this way... For centuries now, man has done everything he can to destroy, defile, and interfere with nature: clear-cutting forests, strip-mining mountains, poisoning the atmosphere, over-fishing the oceans, polluting the rivers and lakes, destroying wetlands and aquifers... so when nature strikes back, and smacks me in the head and kicks me in the nuts, I enjoy that. I have absolutely no sympathy for human beings whatsoever. None. And no matter what kind of problem humans are facing, whether it's natural or man-made, I always hope it gets worse. Don't you? Don't you? Don't you have a part of you, a part of you that secretly hopes everything gets worse? When you see a big fire on TV... don't you hope it spreads? Don't you hope it gets completely out of control and burns down six counties? You don't root for the firemen do you? I mean I don't want them to get hurt or nothing, but I don't want them to put out my fire. That's my fire - that's nature showing off and having fun. I like fires. You know something else I like? Those spring floods in the Midwest! Aren't they great? Like clockwork, spring floods in the Midwest. Now I'm starting to notice... I'm starting to catch on, that every year... it's the same story. Another flood, in the same place, with the same people, on the same river- SAME ****ING PEOPLE! And these people do not move, they will not ****ing move! They repaint, put down new carpeting and wallpaper and they move right back into the same ****ing house on the flood plain, next to the river, and then they wonder why grandma's floating downstream with the parakeet on her head! Fourth time, again, fourth ****ing time. There's no learning curve with these people. It's very hard to feel sorry for them. Every year - same people, same rowboats! Out there paddling around... rescuing a chicken. What the **** kind of a life is that? "Well our kids love it here...? Oh really, what do they got, gills? And while they're showing all that action on the screen, the announcer's saying to me "It's been raining steadily for three months now, the ground can't hold any more water... The river is cresting higher than it has in two centuries, the levees have washed away...? And I just hope it keeps raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining and raining, and it rains steadily for five years... and then after that, for ten years it's cloudy. With occasional showers. And the river never returns to its natural banks! It becomes a completely new river, and the borders of three states have to be changed, and all the maps and atlases have to be redrawn and reprinted... and no one's couch ever completely dries out. For years and years, every time they sit down there's always that little "Squish...? "Dan, Linda, come on in you guys, have a seat" - "Squish!" "Squish!" I like that. I'm an interesting guy.

A Growing Trend of Leaving America

PANAMA CITY, PANAMA—Dressed in workout casual and sipping a soda in one of the apartment-style rooms of Los Cuatro Tulipanes hotel, Matt Landau appears very much at home in Panama. One might even be tempted to call him an old hand were he not, at age 25, so confoundingly young. Part owner of this lovely boutique hotel in Panama City's historic Casco Viejo, he is also a travel writer (99 Things to Do in Costa Rica), a real estate marketing consultant, and editor of The Panama Report, an online news and opinion monthly. Between fielding occasional calls and text messages, the New Jersey native is explaining what drew him here, by way of Costa Rica, after he graduated from college in 2005. In addition to having great weather, pristine beaches, a rich melting-pot culture, a reliable infrastructure, and a clean-enough legal system, "what Panama is all about," he says, "is the chance to get into some kind of market first." Landau cites other attractions: "There is more room for error here," he says. "You can make mistakes without being put under. That, to me, as an entrepreneur, is the biggest draw."

Long a business and trade hub, Panama has been booming ever since the United States gave it full control of the Canal Zone in 1999. But as Landau says, it is precisely because so much of Panama's economy has been focused on canal-related activities that opportunities in other sectors, from real estate to finance to a host of basic services, have gone largely untapped. And among the many foreigners coming to tap them—as well as to enjoy the good life that Panama offers—are a sizable number of Americans.

These Yankees, it turns out, are part of a larger American phenomenon: a wave of native-born citizens who are going abroad in search of new challenges, opportunities, and more congenial ways of life.

In his recent book Bad Money, political commentator Kevin Phillips warns that an unprecedented number of citizens, fed up with failed politics and a souring economy, have already departed for other countries, with even larger numbers planning to do so soon. But that may be putting too negative a reading on this little-noticed trend. In fact, most of today's expats are not part of a new Lost Generation, moving to Paris or other European haunts to nurse their disillusionment and write their novels. Some may be artists and bohemians, but many more are entrepreneurs, teachers, or skilled knowledge workers in the globalized high-tech economy. Others are members of a retirement bulge that is stretching pensions and IRAs by living abroad. And while a high percentage of expats are unhappy with the rightward tilt of George Bush's America, most don't see their decision to move overseas as a political statement.

Southward trend. Europe still draws many of these American emigrants, but even more have relocated in Canada and Mexico. Others are trying out Australia, New Zealand, or one of the new economies of Asia, while a growing stream flows southward to Central and South America. John Wennersten, author of Leaving America: The New Expatriate Generation and a retired historian who has taught for many years abroad, says Panama is the "new new thing" for those who are part of what he calls "a long-term trend."

Exactly how many people are part of this trend is hard to say. Precise emigration figures have never been easy to come by in the United States. "It's been an implicit assumption that people come here to stay, not to come and go," says Mike Hoefer, head of the Office of Immigration Statistics at the Department of Homeland Security. The government's last trial effort to count Americans overseas, in 1999, was deemed inordinately expensive. Elizabeth Grieco, chief of immigration statistics at the U.S. Census Bureau, puts it bluntly: "We don't count U.S. citizens living abroad."

But if the government is not counting, others are. Estimates made by organizations such as the Association of Americans Resident Overseas put the number of nongovernment-employed Americans living abroad anywhere between 4 million and 7 million, a range whose low end is based loosely on the government's trial count in 1999. Focusing on households rather than individuals (and excluding households in which any member has been sent overseas either by the government or private companies), a series of recent Zogby polls commissioned by New Global Initiatives, a consulting firm, yielded surprising results: 1.6 million U.S. households had already determined to relocate abroad; an additional 1.8 million households were seriously considering such a move, while 7.7 million more were "somewhat seriously" contemplating it. If the data collected in the seven polls conducted between 2005 and 2007 are fairly representative of the current decade, then, by a modest estimate, at least 3 million U.S. citizens a year are venturing abroad. More interesting, the biggest number of relocating households is not those with people in or approaching retirement but those with adults ranging from 25 to 34 years old.

it seems to be getting dramatically worse in america. i remember a much better time, some 30 years ago. i am shocked that america has turned into this. we have finally woken up and smelled the coffee of truth. i don't understand the endgame of this, but it has to be civil war.

Before my graduation from college (USC) I witnessed hundreds upon thousands of people plus new grads with heavy debt loads fighting for positions in companies with little success, one of my good friends from Vietnam said to me don't focus on the States look everywhere I did. (born and raised in LA)
Fast Forward to the time of my graduation after submitting my resume and certified copies of my degree around the world I received 100's of "On the Spot" offers! I can say my student loans all paid in full landed a great job in Management for a large Export company in Vietnam. The economy's of Asia are some of the best and your future employer does all the visas and residency. I will have to say it was the best decision that I have made in my life, plus location 1 hour to Bangkok 1 hour to Singapore 7 hours to Melbourne Australia and so on. And regarding the legal system hell it's more free over here IE got stopped twice forgot my DL my fault "ahh it's you just go back home" so theres much to be said.
In closing great article, there is much more outside the States. Over-here this is the new US the way it was when my father was growing up.

Ironically enough the thread is titled freedom and your own mind isn't even free. If your mind isn't free from cancer causing drugs and stress how can you preach to us Americans about freedom? You are a prisoner of drugs and ultimately cancer.

That is the point I'm making. All your conspiracy theories are just that. I'm working with facts and information you've told us. You've told me what you say in here isn't your true self. Again you aren't free because telling lies isn't a "free state of mind". When you are truly comfortable with yourself and free from drugs then I'd say you have become free. Instead you are hiding from your community of peers. People you've "known" for 10+ years. You are not free. A free man would reveal himself. You've admitted your fear of the net.

Ok baja I took the time and watched this in it's entirety.

1) Do you believe this? Is this your take on 2012. Or actually Oct 28th now?

Has anyone else watched this? If so what are your thoughts?

Summary if you don't have the time.

- Oct 28th, 2011 is the beginning of the end as life as we know it.
- Vibrations in the human mind can alter the path we are heading down
- Two comets are coming. A blue one that has caused the recent earthquakes. A second one red one that is sneaking in without anbody reallly noticing right now.
- A mini nuke plotted by our own government is going to go off in America. This "terrorist" plot will give Obama the green light to nuke Iran.
-This secret comet that nobody sees coming is going to be visible to people on Earth and the governments around the world will unite under the "New World Order to defeat it". You see people won't realize it's just a comet and we will be tricked into believing it's aliens.
-We then will be implanted with micro chips if you want to live. If not you will die.

I may not have that summed up perfectly but that's about this thread is about and the link baja posts.

I have no idea when or exactly what will happen Meck but i feel some huge life changing event is coming.

What will be will be.

I also believe we are eternal Beings having a human experience so it's all good.

Life changes everday baja! You could be on your bike cruising around Cabo today and some stonned hippies from SoCal could run your ass over! You just never know!

That has been my point for years as you've tried so hard to desperately sell us the end of times.

The key is to be at peace everyday as if it were your last. I'd be fine if I was gunned down in the streets with a random bullet, run over by a truck, or a huge comet burned me instantly.

What I wouldn't be fine with is knowingly killing myself with cigars.

What I did learn by watching the video is that you do not practice the early principals just before and after the 6 minute mark. Please review.

I've been trying to explain to you the concept of "living in the moment" and "being at peace". Instead you are in a constant battle with others, ridicule them, blast them for not believing in what you say. Totally contradictory to the peace loving breathing hippie you pretend to be on here from time to time. It just doesn't add up.

There is just no way you are living a peaceful life from day to day if you believe even a fraction of the GARBAGE and NONSENSE you posted in the original post.

Mini nukes and F-16s figthing Aliens in the sky that is actually a comet? Put the bottle or dope down baja. Clear your head son!

Contemplate "Eternal Beings" It will explain much to you.

You have misunderstood be from the beginning Meck. I am not selling "End Times" at all. I am advocating preparing for the changes of the transition to a higher conscientious. Yes many will leave their bodies and return to the Cosmic Soup of Awareness but they do not "die". When you know that you have the opportunity to die to your ego self. Read The Tibetan Book on the Dead" for more clarity.

As for cigars I have been enjoying them in moderation for about 6 months and will drop of them soon enough but rant on if it makes you feel better.

As for you "owning commercial greenhouses good luck with that without good seed.

Dude I really don't give rats ass that you smoke cigars. It's just ONE easy example to prove you do not practice what you preach.

What's coming to your baja is whatever your mind says is coming.

Your's says hunker down and wait for the aliens that is actually a comet Oct 28th, 2011.

My mind says Relax....ahh...Watch the tomatoes grow and hope the Broncos can be in the playoff hunt come Oct 28th.

Best of luck to you David. I can't reason with mini nukes, aliens that are actually comets. Hilarious!

I hope you can find a way to be at peace. Your mind is interesting and restless. Try and calm it somehow.
