Ochocinco to Patriots

The New England Patriots have acquired wide receiver Chad Ochocinco after he accepted a restructured three-year contract from the Patriots, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Terms of the trade weren't known. Ochocinco was seen catching a plane to Boston Thursday. He was scheduled to make $6.35 million for the Bengals this year. The Patriots wanted him to restructure his contract to fit their cap.

What can you say. They get cheap all-stars, and if they fail they didn't really lose anything.

The rich get richer. New England is perceived as a better place to play. We need to get back to that perception. However, it won't happen as long as we keep changing quarterbacks (and coaches) around...:sunshine:

I feel like New England just became an episode of Benny Hill. Cue Yackety Sax.

They have to hurry up and win another Super Bowl. Brady won't be around much longer. Neither will Manning. The AFC is going to be very interesting in a few years.

A winning franchise doing exactly what needs to be done to give themselves the best chance of success. **** how I miss that.

Love him or hate him, Bellibollox takes chances on players and it normally pays off.

What exactly makes him a douche? Maybe you don't like his personality, but overall he's a good guy.

Sorry man but he's not a good guy and I don't really mind his on field antics , some of them are cute/funny. Living here you get to hear all the drama from the lawsuits to the car repos.

I have to go through this about once a year here at the Mane when there is a thread on C.J. and I say he's a pos and someone ask how so , but trust me he's a douche ...

Goggle Chad Johnson and raffle ... He basically got sued for giving away the grand price to some ho he was sleeping with and then backed out of going on the trips that was other prizes and got his stupid @$$ sued and looked like a total moron pos.

Dude is a head case...

Maybe OCHO is going in HAM and will pull an Ayers and just show up on the field in an 85 jersey?

When you have Brady and a large number of other very good players it's easy to keep the **** heads in line. They will win games in New England and be happy. Teams in our position can't take on clowns and cancers. You become the Bengals and Browns when you do that.

Seems like Mike Brown don't give a ****..why wouldn't you trade him and try to get something in return??

I heard he just wants to use a symbol (aka Prince) instead of a number anyway. What is the symbol for "assclown?"

I might believe this for the Haynesworth trade, but I think Ochocinco on the Pats is a pretty good move. He won't cause trouble, he's still a quality player and he likes the coach a lot. I'd be really happy about it if I were a fan.

Fat Al and Willfork is one massive DL. And they have Stroud too. That is a DL built to stop the run.

Yup....They've gone to the well too many times now. Moss got his **** together for them a few years ago so Beli thinks he can do it with anyone. This is the year it all comes crashing down and the Pats don't even sniff the playoffs.

Oh, I realize this. I just meant that between the two ballsy moves they've made so far, Haynesworth seems more like a reach than trading for Ochocinco.

Honestly if both of the moves pan out they should win the Super Bowl.
