I'll stick with my prediction, from a few weeks ago. a clean debt ceiling vote.

I'm gonna go with the Boehner plan, once he updates it. Once this passes in the House (which I predict it will) and Reid's plan dies in the Senate, it becomes the only (albeit sorry, weak, timid, and useless) game in town.

AS far as I am concerned no of the plans really address the cause. So we'll be just right back where we are in several months.

Agreed, this is horribly sad. Same few wingnuts holding the country hostage in a few months to push their rigid agendas. We need to fix many things, and a comprehensive balanced approach to raising taxes and cutting spending is what is required here, not utopian, partisan ideology.
Boehner plan, Reid plan, all the same crap unfortunately.

the boehner plan will die in the senate. the vote on it will go before the reid plan goes up for a vote. leaving either the reid plan or a clean vote on the debt ceiling. the reid plan won't make it through the house which will force either a clean vote or obama using the 14th amendment. all the polls are showing that reps will get blamed. McDonnell has acknowledge it as well as others. which will push them to raise the debt ceiling with a clean bill.

it seems that the boehner plan didn't even make it out of the house. boehner canceled the vote tonight due to a lack of votes. it seems the inmates are running the asylum.
I'm still holding to my prediction but the odds favor Obama will use the 14th amendment.

Or we could apparently mint a $5 trillion dollar coin?
(It gets a bit technical.) But the idea is that Secretary Timothy Geithner could order the Mint to make a, say, $5 trillion coin. It could then use the coin to buy back and extinguish debt from the Fed, pushing the country back under the ceiling. Or it could deposit it, and the Fed could counteract the inflation by selling government debt.

AS far as I am concerned no of the plans really address the cause. No clamping down on corp. loopholes and revenue from the ultra rich. So we'll be just right back where we are in several months.

Just how much do you think corporate loopholes and clamping down on the rich would bring in?
As for the poll, I have the benefit of coming in late but I think my opinion wouldn't have been any different when the poll was fresh. The Tea Party wont accept anything the senate would approve. Boner won't risk a split by alienating the Tea Party. The senate and the president wont listen to a thing the Tea Party produces. I don't think the House would approve a straight debt limit increase because, again, there's too many Tea Partiers holding firm on this one.
Obama will choose to pay the bill when nobody can compromise. Unfortunately, that'll do nothing to save our credit rating.
