View Full Version : The Greater Satan: America In The Eyes Of The Middle East

I was told that if I voted for someone other than Obama, that the Middle East would hate the US even more than they hated us under Bush. They were right. Hilarious!
Executive Summary
• After improving with the election of Barack Obama in 2008, U.S. favorable ratings
across the Arab world have plummeted. In most countries they are lower than at the
end of the Bush Administration, and lower than Iran's favorable ratings (except in Saudi
Arabia).
• The continuing occupation of Palestinian lands and U.S. interference in the Arab world
are held to be the greatest obstacles to peace and stability in the Middle East.
• While many Arabs were hopeful that the election of Barack Obama would improve
U.S.-Arab relations, that hope has evaporated. Today, President Obama's favorable
ratings across the Arab World are 10% or less.
• Obama's performance ratings are lowest on the two issues to which he has devoted
the most energy: Palestine and engagement with the Muslim world.
• The U.S. role in establishing a no-fly zone over Libya receives a positive rating only in
Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, but, as an issue, it is the lowest priority.
• The killing of bin Laden only worsened attitudes toward the U.S.
• A plurality says it is too early to tell whether the Arab Spring will have a positive impact
on the region. In Egypt, the mood is mixed. Only in the Gulf States are optimism and
satisfaction levels high.

Our people simply do not understand the cultural differences between our people and theirs, and what earns respect in the middle east. What evokes the most respect? Strength. We, through politically correct pressure, project the opposite of strength. They believe that we are weak, and ripe to be destroyed because of that. Over-soft blandishment and appeasement are seen as pathetically immasculated behavior in hugely masculine cultures.
They do not respect us. They do not respect Obama at all.

Indeed, the cultural moorings there are: Diplomacy is for those whose only remaining option is submission. It's very Klingon, but there it is.

Yes, and when countries like Iran openly challenge the US at every opportunity over there (Obama doesn't even address them anymore), they believe that they already have the US under thumb and they believe that its just a matter of time before they land the right blow and topple it over.

I'd rather they fear the US than like the US. Terrorists and those who support them are less likely to attack when they fear the consequences. That's just human nature...

Well here's the deal...they aren't going to like the US anytime soon. Even if we weren't militarily installed in the region (we will be there for years and years), they see our culture as godless and needing to be overtaken by Islam, violently if necessary. Violence is a regular part of many middle eastern cultures.

I'd rather we saved 1.3 trillion dollars and over a million lives. "Liking us" is just icing on the cake.

They won't ever like us. I said it when the liberals blamed Bush for it, and I will say it now, **** the Muslims they can eat camel ****. If they hate us more that is because Obama has done a good job droning them to submission, killing that bastard Osama, and saying even if I am Muslim I will still bomb your ass. :) snickers! J/K I don't believe Obama is any religion that dude is probably an atheist. :) he does lie a lot though. Like him telling the Muslims on his apology tour things would be different. He's right now he just fires cruise missiles then lets Nato do the bombing.
Still though who cares if they like us. I said at the time they will end up hating Obama now because he won't come through on any of his America will be different BS. We will never change till the take the keys to this ride from our cold dead grip. I say we invade Mexico!

What is it with you morons and calling everything that contradicts your far left worldview "crazy"?
It has become a fad for people on the far left to call everything "crazy" (except for themselves of course).
Ironic. Especially considering how "sane" it looks to write things in all caps that include the words "bat ****". Ha!

It has nothing to do with Obama. It's the policy -- stupid.
It's been this way since before you were born. You are still too wet behind the ears to know it.

You lost me right there and may as well have said, "A complete retard with clear agendas told me." But I'm sure if you're really acquainted with members of the intelligence community, you already know they're entirely composed of the dredges of humanity which are easily deceived, miseducated, coerced, manipulated and, of coarse, completely lack moral compass so they will betray friends, family, country and humanity when ordered.

Obama came out talking 67 borders just a few months ago. Israel got pissed and now I read that Hilliary/Russia/UN sec and some other envoy had a meeting and the could not even agree to a statement. The rumor was Hilliary would not agree to mention the 67 borders in the statement. It didn't take long for Obama to cave on this which is why i said don't stand up in the first place. Until an American President has the balls to do something about the problems with Israel and the Palestinians I say STFU. Lip service at this point just pisses the parties off even more IMO. I'm one of the few people on the board with a Palestinian friend. A good friend. He grew up in the west bank. During the war with the Israelis he talks about his mom taking them to a cave in the hills while his dad stayed home on the roof shooting at planes he could never hit with a crappy rifle lol. I asked him point blank, any chance for peace. He said no way, not in 100 thousand lives of christ because the 2 sides despise each other, hate each other, and will never be able to stop the violence. He;s funny to talk to though hes not as anti israel as you would think. Americanized now for sure we got to strip clubs together and he own a local liquor store in a posh part of Sunset Beach, right by where Sandra Bullock and Jesse James lived. In any event if the people who live there say it's a lost cause why should i worry about?

It's a canard a minute with him.
Like we Christians are NOT violent...
He overlooks the million dead Iraqis, the unknown thousands of dead Afghanis, the 2-4 million dead Vietnamese in the Viet Nam war (caused by the US CIA),
not to mention the 900,000 dead Laotians and Cambodians killed by Kissinger during US bombing, on and on...
not to mention the 100 million plus dead during WW II -- none of whom were killed by Muslims...
oh and don't forget the 50-100 million dead Native Americans, again, none of whom were killed by Muslims...

Here's a suggestion...move to Iran. Leave.
That will fix it for you and everyone you come in contact with. I'm sure they'll be accepting of you in Iran.
