I think Denver should try to sign him. No matter what the new CBA brings, Aso will be an FA.

I don't know what the number will be he signs for, but it's at least worth a try.

If we did this, it would be nothing short of an "OMG D LINE!" meltdown here

Of course there will be. Unless he gained 100 pounds and can stop the run at the line of scrimmage, I think spending that much money could get us more than one player. PASS!

Why would a highly regarded FA sign with a 4-12 team??????????????????????? He won't let's get back to reality now.

Broncos probably can't entice Aso to come to Denver. It would be a slam dunk if he did though. It's never a bad idea to go after any great player IMO. I think though Broncos will go after DT and RB in FA with the bigger money. Not sure they will want to give Aso the Revis deal which is what it will take.

Bailey/ASO with 2 young safetys would be interesting though. What do 2 safety's do with no reason to help outside?

I heard Houston wants to look at him. Get that stud on defense to maybe get them over the hump. They have plenty of studs on offense.

If we could get him it'd be great (we won't), but D-line investment is of course essential.

DLIne and look at a running back in free agency. We cannot afford for Moreno to go down again. If Tebow is the guy and is having trouble completing passes, we need to make sure our running game is not detrimental to our offensive game.

I think Denver will be knocking on Charles Johnson's door at midnight of FA.
24 year old with 11.5 sacks. You can never have enough pass rushers. Find the DTs in the draft or bargain shop for those guys. Don't overpay for a Mebane or Cofield.

The Broncos need to spend the bulk of their free agent money on the DL than a CB. Another CB would be great, but not at the expense of signing a DL or 2.

We need trench work...not in the back of the crowd work.

I bet we go after Derek Landri, Nick Hayden and Williams before Johnson. Landri should come cheap.

I would be all for Aso as well. I think if we could land a Landri, resign Thomas and take a chance on Tommie Harris, Daniel Muir, Paul Soliai and Clifton Ryan that would give us a OK DT rotation. Nothing too sexy but a solid start to rebuilding.

I would add Remi Ayodele and Anthony Hargrove cheap DT's with ties to the new staff that might be brought in to compete.

regardless of the record. Denver is still a good franchise for players. John Fox is a respected players coach, with an owner willing to drop the coin necessary to win.

Denver still has draw. not as much as a few seasons ago, but it still has draw.

I don't disagree about us as a franchise like you said, above. Your talking about a hot FA that played on a struggling team he'll want an elite team or up and coming team that isn't us right now. We have other areas we need to address first.

I don't know why there is such a high price on placed on CB's around here.

You don't win SB's with one or 2 studs who are best at their positions, you win it with a complete team.

I say be patient in FA and get guys who can add depth and contribute rather than go ALL IN with one guy. We had a great draft, now we need to find some FA's to fill in the holes and hope that in a couple years we are back at the top.

Eagles made it clear that a shutdown corner was at the top of their priority list and they would do whatever is needed to sign a All-Pro corner.

Best case scenario would be to sign a defensive tackle when free agency opens up. Worst case scenario is not signing any DTs.

He signed an extension with the Raiders after a 5-11 season in 2008

Worst case scenario happened last year. I think they want to put warm bodies in the middle of the DL and generate a pass rush from the DE's and LB's.

Fox seemed to like to do that at Carolina and we have some young guys with some upside at DT that would be fine during this transition year.

I am fine if they fill out the team with some quality depth and reload next offseason for the playoff push.

Though it's an impossibility, given the fact that we literally do not have enough DTs on the roster today to even field a defense for an entire game, I think it would be pretty freaking hilarious if they did just this.

I was hoping the Raiders would Bush or Miller walk. Bush would be great in Denver paired with Tebow.

That's it in a nut shell. If we are going to spend the money then spend it on a good player like Aso. Fox does a very good job of getting the most out of DT's. Some posted on here before he is like the Mike Shannahan of DT's.

I think if we could land Aso we could try and trade Goodman to a team that needs a DB like Houston or the Lions.

He's done said he wants to play for a contender so that excludes Denver besides they need to sign some big D-linemen to go with the new lb's and safeties

Cant see it to be honest. We have Dumervil pocketing $14m this year, Miller when he reports pocketing some nice change to initially be a passrusher and Ayers who the coaches feel will fit a 4-3 defense better. I'd be shocked if we throw much money at DE unless it's depth. The priorities will likely be DT, RB and maybe OL, can't see much money going elsewhere, you never though, this is Denver afterall.

It's been rumoured we're going to make a run at Bush or the Bengal back. De'Angelo will be looking for a huge deal.

Benson? Won't he be looking for a big deal as well? Jerious Norwood, Kevin Smith, or Brandon Jackson would be worth a look at.

Remember when we all wanted him?

It's not fair to say that Asomugha's been a bust in Philadelphia, since he has put together stretches of above-average play and helped make the life of opposite corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie easier. But when the Eagles signed Asomugha, they weren't signing a guy playing at that level; they went into the market and gave Asomugha a five-year, $60 million deal expecting to get Nnamdi Asomugha, the guy who shut down an entire side of the field for the Raiders for three years. Since he arrived in town, it has felt like we've all been waiting for the real Nnamdi to show up, like he's some schematic change or settling-in period away from being the superstar cornerback most everyone expected him to be. After Jones made him look so ordinary on Sunday, it feels easier to just accept that he's never going to be that player in Philadelphia. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8568218/the-andy-reid-era-come-close-rest-week-8-nfl-news
