Headed to Myrtle Beach in a couple of days, need some recommendations on which golf courses to play, and/or any other places I need to see while I am there.

You can spend anywhere from $40 to $150 to play golf. Depends on the quality of course you want to play.

I really liked Prestwick and the 3 Legends courses are great. Caledonia Fish and Golf I heard is awesome probably the nicest cource in MB and with a summer time rate of $109 .

If you are playing more than twice it's wise to use a booking agent

Play early

I think we have a champ24 poster here (old McFoneco) that would love to play golf with you but he has to watch his newborn and his stepkids. But once his wife gets off of the pole and back to the mobile home, he might be able to go out and play.

Caledonia Fish and Golf.... haven't heard of this one. I have heard great things of the International, Grand Dunes and Kings North. We are wanting to play 1 day at a cheaper course, then 1 at a signature course where we are ready to for over some coin.

I have heard from locals Crow Creek might be the best deal in MB in terms of price vs quality of course. It's in North Myrtle so you could be driving a bit

My philosophy on playing golf while on vacation - don't go for the cheap deals. You can always play mediocre courses at home and find deals. On vacation, play the courses you WANT to play. If I was going to Myrtle Beach, no doubt one of the first places I would go is Legends Golf & Resort. They have many courses and all are very different and designed by some of the best golf architects there are.

I would definitely play the Pete Dye Moorland course. You don't see alot of great true Euro style links courses and I think it would be a real treat to play and experience.

How can you argue with this:

Hmmmm. Not sure how to nicely suggest Charleston, Hilton Head and Savannah as better golf and vacation spots.

I agree. Once I set up to play one low end course and one high end course and afterwards I wish I payed the extra $30 to play another high end course and skip the low end course

I have several friends from the Carolinas and to a man they all recommend the Legend courses

I'm asking for recommendations on golf primarily. And secondly if there are any specific sights that are definitely worth seeing; didn't know it was horrible to ask people for their opinions?

I bet you complain a lot about "The World".

It looks like you missed white AND black Biker Weeks, but I recommend the Dog House...

But seriously, Broadway at the Beach has a few bars worth checking out.

Anybody know if the Crazyhorse is still open?

Links courses are awesome it must be said... and I suck at golf... nor do I really appreciate the artificiality of the golf course... but that's where links courses come in. They look a lot more natural. They're the courses golf courses were first played on before courses were "built". Not sure if their environmental impact is different.

Shame you're not going to Hilton Head. I can at least comment on those courses.

Regardless, have a great time man!
