Glen Beck is here for you!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/social/DenveRockwell/glenn-beck-and-family-harrassed-bryant-park_n_886208_94665607.html

How terrible! It got so bad, Mr. Beck actually asked if anyone had a rope, as perhaps a lynching was in order. That's some awful, awful liberalism! What happened to the compassion? Why do people hate hi...

What's that?

It was all made up?

You mean... you mean, Glen Beck LIED to us?

If you need a spoon to slurp up Beck's goodness, talk to epicFAIL.

Speaking of which, Obama held a presser today.

ETA: Beck's an entertainer, so should his lying really surprise you? Strain at gnats much? Hell, John Stewart does it all the time but oddly, you start no threads over it. For the record, they're both dishonest a-holes.

Stewart apologizes when he's "wrong". Does Beck?

I love that. Beck is an entertainer.

The 45-year-old "highway shooter" who engaged in a 12-minute shootout with California Highway Patrol officers earlier this year now says Fox News host Glenn Beck has been an inspiration for his activity.

I guess you could say that's entertaining??? hmmm...

Sad. Very sad. Complete fail.

And to think, the alternative was this:

Beck compared the spilling of wine on his wife with lynching. You find that entertaining?

he's also on FOX NEWS CHANNEL, which, in case you couldn't tell by the name of the channel, is about NEWS.

Oh, and he's moving to Glen Beck TV, whose slogan is "We're changing TV so you can change the world. The Truth Lives Here." And then he lies. So... what's that now?

If you think that's the only time a) stewart's been caught in a lie and b) that he apologized for every time he has been caught, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. The funny thing is that Stewart hides behind the 'just a comedian' facade and you all seem to be fine with it.

As for Beck, I don't listen/watch the guy so I don't know if he has ever apologized for a falsehood in his life, nor do i care. But guess what, I googled 'Beck+apology' and found multiple apologies regarding multiple issues from Beck, so I guess he does apologize, to answer your question.

Both guys do the same thing--they comment on political issues. They do it in a way that is slanted, biased, and very often, lacking in truth. This thread demonstrates why posting topics like this that are a)incomplete in facts; b)subject to almost purely hearsay; and c)designed as nothing more than a political gotcha in hopes of inflaming people merely because of their disagreement with you in the realm of politics can be foolish.

Check this out. The chick who is claiming this was false has a Twitter account and she tweeted about Beck being directly in front of her at the park:

http://www.theblaze.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/db2-620x158.jpg

One of her followers responded with this:

http://www.theblaze.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/db10.jpg

Anyway, you can read the rest of this juvenile crap here:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/woman-seated-near-beck-at-movie-claims-innocence-but-what-does-twitter-tell-us/

Lots of hearsay and, based on what i've read, beck's story is plausible. Given his track record, however, it may not be true.

But you agree that Stewart does it in a sarcastic/humorous way while Beck is typically "serious" (or acting serious), right? I would say that Stewart's audience generally laughs while saying "isn't that the truth" while Beck's audience pounds their fists on the coffee table in anger saying "damn liberals!!!". Different tone, different message, different delivery, different intent.

Their styles are different, to be sure. But you have an army of morons who turn to Jon Stewart for their 'news' and you have an army of equal but separate morons who rely on Beck for their 'news'. These two are more similar than different. I disagree with you about the differing intent. Stewart couches his bias in humor but you can bet that his audience is staunch and almost militant liberal as evidenced by their rabid applause at the slightest anti-GOP joke, having NO CLUE if what Jon has just told them is true, half true, or falso. Beck does the same thing but with a wafting air of faux-rationality about him. His intent is just like Stewarts'--1. ratings; 2. advertisers; and 3. championing a specific political message even at the expense of telling the entire truth.

I tune in to Stewart to be entertained. Not for news, but for his take on the news. THAT is similar to why I think people would tune in to Beck.

HOWEVAH, I don't think the shows are similar at all. One takes video and news clips to make fun of the media, politicians on both sides of the aisle, and entertainment figures. Beck's show focuses on demonizing the other side. Not making them look silly, not for a laugh, but actually making them seem like Satan incarnate.

As for intent: Stewart is a comedian. He's going for laughs. Do you really think he would say and do some of the ridiculous things he says and does on a nightly basis if he wasn't going for a laugh?

Beck is a "newsman." His website, as I mentioned, claims "The Truth Lives Here." Then he flat-out lies to his viewers and listeners, makes tenuous-at-best connections between historical figures like Hitler and modern politicians like Obama and Pelosi. He never takes on right wing ideologues.

There are several differences, mostly to do with intent, IMO.

I love it! Liberals have went from it's all Bush's fault, to we had to pick Obama the other choice was a blubbering old man and a crazy woman! Nowhere do you see or hear anything about the great President Obama is. He stinks at this job and all of you know it.

Stewart admits when he´s wrong? Sure, as long as he can make a "joke" out of it in the process, which makes it insincere.

I'm not sure this is as new and exciting as you're letting on, that or you don't get out much and are starved for entertainment. Regardless how good or bad of a job you think Obama has done he was the only choice with Sarah Palin on the other ticket. Any sane, rational, intelligent person who's not under the influence of any controlled substances would make the same choice again even with perfect hindsight. Hopefully the GOP comes up with something better for '12 to give people a real choice. But you were a moron if you voted for McCain/Palin in '08, and you're a moron if you say you'd vote for McCain/Palin today even knowing what you know.

People generally tune into The Daily Show to have a laugh and be entertained. People who tune into Beck don't but probably should. That's the big difference you're not seeing.
