I'm surprised Vancouver wasn't prepared for this as they should have been, 100k plus people downtown during this game 7 and violence breaks out.

I guess the officials didn't learn their lesson back in 1994.

Don't knock how they do it in other cities just because you guys in Dallas did the Toosh Push and other line dances lilke you were between The 1985ish Hands Across America and that Alan Jackson "Good Time" video. But, here are two songs by FIF about Colorado, one with a mention of John Elway.

I have the same opinion of people who "protest" the G8 or World Trade meetings or austerity cuts. Same result every time, oddly enough. Things end up on fire and we get to hear a rant about "pig" cops.

Rarely see any real rioting after any college teams win, aside from some vandalism on campuses. It's in big cities where you have hundreds of thousands of people downtown to watch the game on the streets and in bars. That big of a crowd gives a sense of anonymity to people who are looking for a chance to stir up ****. Vancouver especially, with its previous history of political rioting (and the same thing happening after a game 7 loss in 1994).

Felt a little bad after the actual game for the real Canuck fans. Their display at the end of the game - giving their team a standing ovation as the seconds wound down despite the heartbreaking loss, the stands staying packed for the trophy ceremony, cheering for Tim Thomas. It was pretty impressive, though the ugliness outside obviously became the big story.

The identity of Vancouverís famous kissing couple is revealed

By 'Duk

In the age of Facebook and Twitter, it was only a matter of time before the world learned the identities of the kissing couple from that now-iconic photo of the Vancouver riots.

About 24 hours after photos of the smooch was passed on through emails, IMs and blog posts, the Toronto Star and the CBC are reporting that the boyfriend and girlfriend in the photograph are Aussie bartender Scott Jones and Canadian college student Alex Thomas, who was injured just before the picture was taken.

The after-shocks of the recent riots in Vancouver will be felt by rioters, victims, hockey players and police alike for many days yet to come. News has been breaking daily about the identities of individuals caught on film. Nathan Kotylak, an all-star water polo player in Canada is one such individual that has been identified and called out for his disgraceful actions during the post game riot.
Water Polo Canada provided this youngster with a scholarship to the University of Calgary, where the young hopelful could join the University's water polo team and study towards a university degree. He was recently added to Canada's national team and had his sights set on being an Olympian and representing Canada on the world wide stage. Now, his reputation and image will be greatly tarnished, most likely forever.

A huge opportunity has all been forfieted, at least should be, thanks to the young man's decision to destroy public and private property while partaking in the Stanley Cup Finals riot in downtown Vancouver after the Canucks lost game 7 at home to the Boston Bruins.

What is with skinny jeans and hightops with the tongues out? Its looks sloppy as ****. Like the 70s and 80s styles had butt sex with a monkey and this is the result.

All I heard were deafening boos drowning out Betman through the entire thing. Probably the opposite of class in my book.

huh? the commish always get's booed, and at least on my TV you could hear them turn instantly to cheers when the cup actually was given to the Bruins. Seriously, you don't often see the entire crowd stick around in a blowout and give a warm reception to the majority of the opposing team. Thomas especially got cheered on his victory lap. I thought it was pretty impressive on the whole.

None of these kids have anything to worry about if caught if the Canadian criminal justice system handles this like they handled the Todd Bertuzzi assault all these guys will get a slap on the wrist if that.

I'm always surprised enough people watch hockey to have a discussion about it

I'm surprised hockey fans have anything to do with violence.......
