Check out Google's doodle today celebrating Les Paul. You can strum the strings and record it. I hadn't even noticed it was interactive today until just a few moments ago.

Today, Google's home page has one of the most interactive Google Doodles to date. In celebration of Les Paul's 96th birthday, Google's home page sports an interactive guitar version of its logo.

There has been an outpouring of exuberant reactions to the latest doodle. Many have been aimlessly strumming while others have figured out how to play a number of songs.

You can strum away until the day's end, or you can record yourself playing a tune. Of course, the recording function only allows for thirty second clips, but that's not too big of a hurdle.

The Doodle works two ways. You can either move your cursor over it to strum the notes, or you can use your keyboard to play them. It's important to note that Google Instant should be turned off as any key press would be put straight into the search field.

A quick Google search will yield many people that have put together keystroke combinations to play a number of famous songs. PCMag Creative Director Chris Phillips, who also happens to be a musician, has successfully put together the opening to "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles.

After toying around with the Doodle for a while, Chris figured out which keys corresponded to which notes. The Doodle works on all four rows of the keyboard starting at 1, Q, A, and Z. On the A row through the semicolon, you can play an octave plus two notes. With that knowledge, Chris set out to play something memorable. A Beatles song was a logical choice.

Starting on the A-row, the left plays fifths on A and G. The right hand comes in with ; K L ; K ; L K H ; L K J. For a moving bass line during the melody, the left hand plays F A F A G S G S. The right hand then plays H J K L ; K L ; K ; K L ; K L ; K L ; K ; L ; L K. Then there's a switch to G H K L G K L G K L G K L G K L J A J. A chord comes in with A D K ; and then the left hand bass is A G (x4) F A (x3) S H (x2) A G (x2) F D S A G. A D K ; is the final chord.

Deep. I goofed with it last night, strummed a little using the trackpad and noticed the "record" option, but didn't think to try the keyboard, much less get a little tune together. Google has become such a fascinating company. :flower:
Ha! Ha! Bing can suck it!

I dedicate my Google Doodle to the One and only Gene Kranz!

"An Ode to Gene" subtitle: "We are go for Broncosteven's Space Fantasy!" http://goo.gl/doodle/t9xzW

I don't know about anyone else there was either a lot of latency or my nerve damage is worse than I thought, the timing (quantization) was a little off.

Thanks.

I don't know if it is my browser or the app but the playback is different everytime I play it. They need to add a Quantinize feature, it should be straight eighth notes but it comes out sloppy not sure if it was my keyboard or latency from the app.

One of my underlings at work was playing this. I caught her, told her to get back to work and stop the madness.

I then started playing it myself for the next four hours.

Driving Experience (http://www.racingadventure.com/)researched this on trip advisor"After a great ride-along at Daytona, I purchased a DVD of the ride. My credit card was charged, but I never received the DVD. After my first phone call, they said they would try to locate the the footage because they "lost" it. No response. My second phone call gave me hope. They said they "found it" but it was..."

Whaaa Huh?
