I am bored and started planning some vacations for the next two years. Since the Huskers are joining the Big 10 this year, I am planning on going to two away games each of the next two years. I would like to get some suggestions for this season from people that have visited these stadiums.

The schedule this year has Nebraska going to Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn St, and Michigan. I think I am going to Penn St since they are trying to form a rivalry between Nebraska and Penn St. I can't decide what other game I should go to. It is obviously between Michigan and Wisconsin. Both have a lot of history. I would love to hear from people that have been to these places. This may come down to which games are easier to get tickets for though.

The next season is a pretty easy choice. Nebraska goes on the road to play Ohio St., Northwestern, Michigan St., and Iowa. I will be at Ohio St and Iowa.

No prior experience here, but I think Wisconsin is going to be a fun time.... beer and brats done right. The two fan-bases seem to have a lot in common and I could see that developing into a good friendly rivalry not unlike Oklahoma. I think Ohio State and Iowa may be more of the nasty variety.

Yeah, I'm not sure that I will find many that have been to these places on a Broncos forum. I haven't looked into the fanbases much so that is probably a good idea to help me decide. I'm hoping we get a few good rivalries going but they will probably take time. Oklahoma was a good rivalry, but we didn't play them enough. Nebraska hasn't had a real rival in a long time.

As for Iowa, they should be good rivals as well. They won't be able to get too hostile when their stadium is half filled with Husker fans.

Penn State is FUN. I live about...1.5hrs from there. Grub is good, there's a reason PA people are fat.

I have never been to PA. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the state as long as I can get tickets to that game.

My thinking is that we have no idea the next time NU will play at Wisconsin. Will probably be at least half a decade. We'll be in Ann Arbor every other year.

That said, depending on what fits your schedule, either would be well worth it. I'm in the Chicago area and seriously looking at going to the game in Madison. Also can't wait for next year when Husker fans can take over Evanston for a day...

I was thinking Wisconsin for that reason. I just realized I have UFL tickets for the day before we play Wisconsin though. So, Wisconsin is out. I bought Penn St tickets already and now just need to make sure I can get to Michigan a week later. If I can work that out, I will be at those two games.

If you plan on going to Wisconsin...be prepared. Camp Randall is a downright BRUTAL place, fans are nasty in an obscene way, its just a loud hellacious environment up there. Just a fair warning, sometimes you wont be sure if they came to the game to cheer wisconsin or to insult and berate the opposing team and fans.

Ohio State and Penn State are one in the same, its loud and crazy and fans are arrogant about their team to a point ofnobnoxiousness. but usually doesnt go overboard like it does in wisconsin. Columbus is also a big nice city, lots of neat things to do while there.

Michigan is more good natured than the above mentioned, good fans there that are a lot more subdued than the other powerhouses. Ill be makinf my first trip up there this year for a game, but heard its a blast in ann arbor.

OSU fan here...

Columbus has toned down their antics of late. Lots to do in Columbus. It's a pretty big city actually. Great food!

PSU is another one that has a great atmosphere. A different feel than Columbus because it's such a small town, but great tailgating overall.

Both OSU and PSU have amazing atmosphere's game time.

Two of my favorite small schools to visit are Northwestern and Indiana. Northwestern because of the fact that we stay in Chicago which is a GREAT city to visit. Take the train to/from the game and have a great weekend. The game itself is a laugher usually, but it's a good time.

Indiana I like because it's a great small college town. Awesome little cafe's, dinners, hole in the wall bars. There is a bar that plays a drinking game called sink the bizmark...tons of fun. The game will also be a laugher, but thats part of the fun. They also let you leave at halftime to go tailgate and let you back in. So much fun!

I've had bags of urine and batteries thrown at me and my friends going to Wisky games...

I've NEVER had an experience like it before. Disgusting fans. Not all, but some.

Thanks for the heads up.... sounds like Missouri.

I just hope our offense improves this year. I have confidence that our defense can play with anyone in the country.

Your defense will fit in well in the Big Ten…

Wisky is the team to beat this year...

I went to a Wisconsin game this year, it was terrific. The atmosphere was amazing, imo. Like a poster said above, the fans get nasty. I love that, even though I was part of the opposition. Wouldn't bring children if your group is dressed in away teams gear.
