Day Twenty-Six - A Song That You Can Play on an Instrument

Anyone want to guess which instrument I can play in this?

I can play pretty much anything I hear. But this is the kind of stuff I prefer.

I can play a lot of stuff on the keyboard/piano. This is one of my favorites from my performing days:

I have always liked this one because of the phrasing, and because Chris Squire is alot of fun to play if you're a bass player:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zn5pRggtZpc?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Zn5pRggtZpc?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

A favorite tune to play on drums:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZqhHPl_oCmU?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZqhHPl_oCmU?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
I also like to noodle on Dave Matthews stuff (Beauford) and many others including Incubus (weird Rock/Metal/Raggae thing there)

A favorite guitar tune:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_JKUqzlsVVU?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_JKUqzlsVVU?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>
I also enjoy Smashing Pumpkins stuff, the Beatles, Jonny from Radiohead, and a near infinite list to follow.

Doesn't everyone play this one on the guitar?

Most of this one

<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uKVp-atyiVA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Played drums to this song when younger at a bar with a relative's band. Absolutely love the drums.

Won't post the pic but it's When the Levee Breaks by LZ. Ok there it goes

Day Twenty-Seven - A Song That You Wish You Could Play on an Instrument

Not an instrument, necessarily. But Susan always tells me that she thinks I have a man crush on Brandon Flowers. I don't; but I admit that I think he and I should hang out. And I regret the incidents where he felt he had to call the police. I just had to talk with him!

<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IdWZgTvf4t0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

07-09-2011, 10:58 PM
And that time he woke up while I had been watching him sleep - that was a total misunderstanding. The voices told me that he was in danger, and I was just looking out for him. The voices know things. They're always right - even though they sometimes say mean things.

07-09-2011, 10:58 PM
Sometimes, when I wear my special aluminum foil hat, the voices stop talking.

07-09-2011, 10:59 PM
I'm rambling, aren't I!

I would love to be able to rock this beautiful piece on hammered dulcimer:

Paul Gilbert doesn't play my kind of music, but I spend a great deal of time trying to learn tricks from him on his videos. It makes playing the music I like pretty much effortless... except I find myself inserting the weedily-weedily-woooo stuff that I swore I didn't like.

Next project after I our house gets built is to find a hammond b3 and a leslie. I've always wanted to learn to play one of these.

Love playing this tune on guitar:

Used to de-STROY this tune on a regular basis. He's not my favorite, but this one always worked.

Day Twenty-Eight - A Song That Makes You Feel Guilty

I have no idea, really. But I love Johnny Cash's version of this song (much better than the original NIN version, IMO) - it always makes me feel sad for him - especially the video (shot a few months before he died). I guess if we're going to go with the guilt theme - this song gets you thinking of every bad choice you've made in life. He didn't write this song, but it resonated with him.

Q:What does Pristina mean? Is it about a city in Europe or possibly a girl?

A:Shame on you, you should be reading the newspapers, though they donít give the most accurate description on whatís happening out there. Pristina, in Kosova, is a very heavy place, it has a lot of meaning to a lot of different people, and there is much suffering for it. You can learn more about how the world really works just by observing this small city. When the song came out, Pristina was a dirty little secret, ignored by the media in general. Now it cannot be ignored.
