Is anyone else keeping up with this? This is insane. If you thought that U.S. politics was an unsophisticated kerfuffle, then check this crap out!

It makes the NCAA look like a well-oiled machine of justice.

A complete shambles, I don't think anyone over here in England takes it serious anymore. But now a lot of countries are telling us to quit complaining and making accusations.

But any governing body that chooses Qatar to host a football world cup is obviously doing something wrong.

Its my hope that Europe, South America, the US, Mexico, Korea, Japan, and Australia (and anyone else who wants to bail) all leave FIFA and form a new international football government.

I really can't see that happening.

At the very least heads should have rolled at Fifa

See...that's the deal. FIFA is so unbelievably corrupt that its ludicrous to think that anything will come of this...even though its out in the open and its so pathetically corrupt.

Will never happen. FIFA is worth billions, and they give millions out to every country to progress football development. Everyone is getting a piece of the pie, which is why it's not surprising Blatter was elected yet again with no competition. Blatter completely reformed FIFA into a billion dollar business. Why bite the hand that feeds?

Also, shifting the world cup vote back to the congress instead of the executive commitee was brilliant, as in addition to the millions being handed out, they also get more power.

It's all just politics, just like anything else. As long as the money coming in (aka sponsors, tv reveune, etc.) isn't affected, nothing will change. A few countires butt-hurt over political maneuvering and gamemenship won't affect FIFA's bottome line, which is why they can laugh in your face all the way to the bank.

Was pretty obvious they're all crooks after the last world cup picks. The England bid was by far the most impressive (no, I'm not biased at all). It's up to England's football federation to continually embarrass these idiots until they get their act together.
