You are presumed guilty until proven innocent...even if you weren't even thinking of committing crime.

You give Obama too much credit...

Its his people who make these decisions...people he chose because they fit his agenda. This is what he wants. The only hope of ending these ridiculously draconian measures is to vote him out of office, and to vote someone in who values and protects civil rights.

Right, like the next president won't allow further expansion of these measures under the guise of 'national security'. Look, its really a nice thought, like a Ron Paul or some other like-minded candidate but I'm not holding my breath.

These things are bigger than any party line IMO...

The politicians who can change this endless spiral down the drain of government control will never get the vote if people keep rolling over and letting these elitist class bureaucrats continue to do what they wish. We have the power in this country to vote people in and out of office. We can make it happen. People need to unplug from the TV, educate themselves on the issues, and make votes that are in their best interest.

It is not in anyone's best interest to allow a government to forecast the possibility that a person could commit a crime and then to establish legal precedent to continue to convict people of crimes that were never committed in the first place.

Wow, this is a popular thread for "guests". Ha! 30 "guests" swarmed to this thread immediately after it was posted. Must be some key words in there that attract "squirrels".

So it's a kind of polygraph. Strange in the sense that a polygraph can be completely unreliable.

We need this FAST type technology used on politicians that promise one thing and have intentions on doing other things that they fail to mention when begging for votes.

I believe the Israelis already use something like this but on a much broader scale.

You should read up on what the Obama Administration has done over the past several years in comparison to his predecessor(s) regarding illegal immigration and border problems. I can provide articles and PDF's if you would like. You can read, right?

Yep. Then they'll steal any water that a Palestinian may have when leaving certain checkpoints, and if the mood is right, put one in the back of their head. Good old Israeli's!

Yup, I read an article about this just today. Contrary to righty talking points
the Obama admin has been very vigilant on the illegal immigration front.

...more than 800,000 people who have been deported since Barack Obama took office, at the rate of about 1,000 per day.

Obama is an unaware jackass regarding the US/Mexico border.

If you said something like what you just posted here to a person living in south Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona, you'd likely get beat to a pulp.

There's probably a correlation to the fact that more are trying to get over here illegally than in the past due to the violence going on in Mexico.

Yet his Administration is dealing with the problem in better ways, more efficiently with better results than the man who stood in office before him.

Some people choose to live in reality, others don't.

If you don't think Obama has made any major progress on the border compared to years past, obviously you haven't been paying attention.

I'm sure all the whites down in Texas, etc. are up in arms about the Hispanic diaspora coming up North.

Wow.

Dude, you realize that Texas has a huge latino population, right? Texas is literally the most racially integrated state in the country. Latinos are a huge part of the conservative underpinning of Texas.

It has nothing to do with "hispanics coming up north", it has everything to do with violent crime spilling across the border.

To frame it as anything else is completely dishonest and worthy of scorn.

Possible, but I've also read that fewer are trying to come over because the economy has been so bad here.

this is crazy, what exactly are they trying to stop? what has happened since the beginning of the homeland security that they need to keep dumping billions of dollars into constructing new more invasive measures to "protect" people, when in fact they are turning the very people they are trying to protect into the assumed enemy.

They've already identified the citizens as the enemy.

Suspicion breeds suspicion.

Right along side those who have Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Weapons of Mass Destruction, they also have terrorist groups such as:

Those of "Christian Identity"
Those who "Make Numerous references to US Constitution"
Those who "Request authority for stop"
Those who are "defenders of the US Constitution"
Those who have "Marxist philosophy"
Those who support "Animals Rights"
and don't forget "Lone Individuals"

Terrorist 'pre-crime' detector field tested in United States

Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST), a US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programme designed to spot people who are intending to commit a terrorist act, has in the past few months completed its first round of field tests at an undisclosed location in the northeast, Nature has learned.

Like a lie detector, FAST measures a variety of physiological indicators, ranging from heart rate to the steadiness of a person's gaze, to judge a subject's state of mind. But there are major differences from the polygraph. FAST relies on non-contact sensors, so it can measure indicators as someone walks through a corridor at an airport, and it does not depend on active questioning of the subject.

The tactic has drawn comparisons with the science-fiction concept of 'pre-crime', popularized by the film Minority Report, in which security services can detect someone's intention to commit a crime. Unlike the system in the film, FAST does not rely on a trio of human mutants who can see the future. But the programme has attracted copious criticism from researchers who question the science behind it (see Airport security: Intent to deceive?).
