I fricken' love Weird Al. It was so awesome to grow up through 6th grade and on always being able to look forward to the next Weird Al album. I listened the hell out of them too.

I'd say he is absolutely an artist...maybe even more so than a great deal of the people he parodies.

If one day you happen to wake up and find yourself in an existential quandary
full of loathing and self-doubt and wracked with the pain and isolation of your pitiful meaningless existence at least you can take a small bit of comfort in knowing that
somewhere out there in this crazy old mixed-up universe of ours there's still a little place called...

Yea it looks like maybe a little Coolio stuff may of happened with this song from Al as well.
From Al's point of the story it looks like Gaga wasn't into him parodying her.

Weird Al, of course, is known for his parodies. However, some of my favorites from him are actually Weird Al originals. This has to be my favorite Weird Al original of all time...

GaGa....Just one more artist with a stick up their ass that Weird Al will outlast.

Chamillionare (seriously?) had the right attitude when Al did White and Nerdy,

""He's actually rapping pretty good on it, it's crazy," Cham said last week. "I guess [Al's camp] reached out to my management and asked if they could do it. He's Grammy-nominated, man. He goes platinum. It's really an honor when he does that. I remember when he redid Michael Jackson's 'Bad' ['Fat']. Weird Al is not gonna do a parody of your song if you're not doing it big. You gotta be a big dog. He shot the video, and people will see it pretty soon. It's crazy."

Christmas at Ground Zero and Midnight Star were good Weird Al originals.

That UHF movie was hilarious too.

Because I have too much time on my hand I decided to do random Weird Al research today.

Turns out in Was Lady GaGa's manager that refused Weird Al, and She never even heard the song. Now that it is out there in cyberspace, she's given Al the go ahead to put it on his upcoming album
