I can't believe some of the ridiculous nonsense that people post here. If you really think that the Broncos are going 16-0, you are nuts. We are clearly going to be resting our starters in week 17, so we'll only be 15-1. :approve:

I guess I'm on the pessimistic side of things.

I don't think the union issues will get resolved until the last possible moment. That means no training camp or preseason. That means that rookies are going to be coming in as raw as can be. It also means that free agents aren't going to have much time to get adjusted. Teams such as Denver, introducing new schemes and staffs, are going to be at an enormous disadvantage for the first few weeks.

I don't see Denver starting better than 1-4. Then comes the bye week and a chance to actually get some people on the same page.

Over the final 11 games, Denver has road trips to Miami and Kansas City where this team rarely wins. Also road trips to San Diego and Oakland. I don't see Denver winning more than one out of that bunch. So make it 2-7.

We have the Jets and Pats at home and the Vikes on the road. Unlikely we'll win more than one of those three. Make it 3-9.

Games that could be won include Kansas City, Detroit and Chicago at home and Buffalo on the road. Could doesn't mean "will." I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they win 3 out of 4.

Final record 6-10. Another top ten pick in the 2012 draft. :olddude:

Are we really that far removed from 2009? Would most argue that with Fox we are better off now than we were at the beginning of the 2009 season?

Is it? Depends on the question, I guess. Do you mean "better off now with the benefit of hindsight?" Because we did start off the 2009 season with a 6-0 record....so it'd be pretty tough to say we're better off now than then without that key benefit. Everyone was drinking the cool aid at that point.

I actually expect to end about the same as in 08. Around 8-8. But, I also hate McDaniels and will take shots whenever possible. So, we are better off now than then simply because McDaniels isn't here.

To play Devil's Advocate, there was only one coach that had a worse record than McD last year.....now combine him with a far less talented roster today than we had at this point in 2009 and it has potential for disaster. Seriously, think about it. How many positions are clearly stronger today than in pre-season 2009?

I see what you are saying but I am hoping Fox has a system that can get results from sub par talent, like Nolan. I'm not real worried about the offense falling off too much. Really though, it is way too early to even talk about this. We still have to draft and maybe have some trading/FA signings before the season starts. We don't even know who will start at QB yet.

Why does everyone think we'll lose to the Pats??? We basically own the Pats, no matter how good they are or how bad we are. And we don't have Deltha O' Neal anymore.

I actually meant to put that as a toss-up... but I think we're bad enough and they're good enough for us to break this year.
