We love dying Spring Spheres at our house. It's a big ritual with cousins coming over and the kids having a ball, er sphere. Or do I still use "ball" in this instance... Maybe someone can clear that up for me:

To answer the thread though, we're doing an Eastern Egg Hunt where the eggs are dropped from a helicopter. 7 year old should have a blast with it

Check out some community functions before little Isaac grows up hating you.

Usually day/after school care providers and churches have some awesome set ups going.

Instead of taking part in some pagan Easter Egg hunting, we Mormons sacrifice babies and puppies. Then we drink the blood of a unicorn.

You heard wrong! That's why it's magic!

On a more serious note, since when was the word "egg" exclusive to Christianity?

I'll admit that I haven't read the article. But I think Easter eggs are actually a pagan tradition. My guess is that this is to remove the pagan aspect from Easter.

But who knows? It's all so full of crazy, it's hard to get your head around it.

I think the pagan spheres are mentioned in the letters of Paul along with the Easter bunny curing lepers.

I had heard the same thing, and that the eggs represent gonads due to ancient beliefs on fertility blah blah blah...

I think the pagans are miffed about all their holidays being stolen by the Catholics. It's all good though. Are we going to give the Easter Bunny equal time with Christ?

Come to think of it we really need to get out American holidays lined up with the equinoxes and solstices better. Ah well. At least we do have Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall holidays. With extra thrown in for Fall and Winter to get us through the dreary months.

An egg is actually closer to an oval than a sphere, but its not really either one. it is oblate.

The "Spring Sphere" sounds more like a finishing move in Mortal Kombat, or in the bedroom, or both.

People make it to be more than it is.

It happens all the time. Some group of assholes in some god knows where part of country do something and an article gets written and then all these people overreact to it whining about how PC the country is just getting dramatic over some outlier that has no effect on anything.

I am not sure how being able to go around saying that makes anything better.

Lemme put it this way. Listening to people drone on about how PC the country is much worse than any annoyance I have ever faced with a life situation being too PC. It is almost always filled with hyperbole or outliers.

Take a walk through all the Stores at Christmas. Count Holiday vs Christmas. Cards, SIgns, you pick I don't care. I noticed a holiday tree sign in Lowe's. Started looking around for Christmas and could not find anything.

The problem is that nobody has a ****ing sense of humor anymore. Everyone takes themselves so goddamned seriously and are completely unable to laugh at themselves. That's from where so many of our problems stem.

Honestly. If people could be more honest with themselves about their own shortcomings and be able to "have a laugh" now and then, we wouldn't be so obsessed with PC bull**** and "causes" that aren't doing anyone any good.

Seriously though, if we can't take the piss out of one another and ourselves, what's the point?

I am not the one getting emotional because some retail store doesnt say Christmas.

I fully understand if some strip mall has any bearing on my personal religious beliefs I would be a total clown.

I personally wouldnt shop at a store that sold Christmas items under the moniker "Holiday". Its patronizing. Sell a Christmas item as a Christmas item. Sell a Hanukkah item as a Hanukkah item. Sell a Festivus item as a Festivus item. Sell a Margaret Murray O'Hare Horrible Murder Day item as a Margaret Murray O'Hare Horrible Murder Day item.

If some moron is offended at seeing a spade called a spade, they need some serious psychotherapy. The rest of society doesnt need to bend to their warped insecurities.

I'm not religious but I have always said i like the idea that Mormons can be like eh well you weren't great, but not evil, level 2, lol. So much better then nope you didn't do it right you go to hell!

The Islamic one where you get all the bitches sounds good but my Grandma always said if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

So one question let's say me and my brother are mormon. If we both go to heaven, but sort of different levels, do we ever interact? or is that it our souls are now separated forever? Or is there still some way for us to reunite like how my dutch reformed church says it will happen. At least that is how i remember it as a kid. That we all go to heaven and hang out together for eternity.
