Yeah the star wars ones I liked. I thought it was funny people thought they were more silly when really they were all silly. The difference is you were 7 yrs old back then!!!

Also for some reason I love the movie 9-5 but never let anyone catch me watching it because it's gay.

A lot of the movies you guys are naming are cult classics, which doesn't really fit the premise. Something that was universally hated by critics and fans alike....like "Battlefield Earth" or "Waterworld" or something like those (neither would be picks of mine...just for instance).

Oh, and if the premise of the thread were movies everyone else enjoyed but I hated, it'd be Super Troopers, The Hangover, and anything of the Superbad/Napoleon Dynamite variant. It was awesome in my younger days. The badass arm wrestlers and the thumb squeeze that no matter how many times I tried, NEVER won me any arm wrestling matches. It was actually quite sad to realize how terrible it really was. In hindsight, the early 90s was a terrible time for a lot of movies.

Major League: Back to the Minors, was actually a decent movie.

Major League was great, Major League 2 was horrible, so Back to the Minors was either going to be great like Major League, or horrible like Major League 2. There was no middle ground. This movie might not be hated but it's virtually unknown and full of awesome win.

I can't remember if "Me Myself and Irene" was universally liked/hated, but I loved that one as well.

who hated the 1st Highlander?

Lots of people. It didn't do well in theaters and the critics panned it.

ah this is going to be an embarrassing list...flame away...

Xanadu (yes that's right, you heard it, I liked a movie with Olivia Newton John on rollerskates)
Dracula 2000 (very bad movie, I admit, but I have a huge crush on Gerry Butler)
Grease 2 (I always mocked my cousin for this because she owns her fondness, I pretend I hate it, but frankly, I loved the Luau scene).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (I blame my father, that is all I can say).

if you think most people hated it, then that would be incorrect...

Upon initial U.S. release, it was not well-received, but it gained wide and persistent popularity in Europe and on other markets, as well as on home video. It has since obtained status as a cult classic film in both domestic and non-domestic markets, leading to four sequels, a television series, and various other spin-offs.

The movie made $2,453,021 on its opening weekend and ended up making $5,735,847 domestically.[2] Internationally, the movie made $12,885,193.[2]

Highlander currently holds a 67% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 30 reviews.

"Joe's Apartment" was about a cockroach infestation in an apartment. It was universally panned, but I enjoyed it...particularly the bathroom scene...

I saw it in theaters and I liked it. It wasn't going to leave me pondering the meaning of life afterwards but it was steadily funny. Even my wife enjoyed it and she can't get her nose out of romance novels and Harry Potter so it says something.

I love watching great movies, but I don't need an Oscar caliber film to be entertained. I think some people turn into movie critics to often. I don't want to sit through a bad movie, but just be entertaining for a hour and a half and I'm good. Cop Out wasn't great by any means, but there were some good laughs.

I agree with several already posted - in particular, I really liked Joe vs. the Volcano. And Joe's appartment is probably the only musical I ever actually enjoyed.. A couple nobody has mentioned:

The Postman - even more universally loathed than Waterworld. What can I say, I'm a sucker for post apocalyptic schlock.

Beyond Thunderdome - "Who runs Bartertown?? Say louder!"

and all those hopelessly schlockey Steven Segal movies from the '90's.. Above the Law, Under Siege, On Deadly Ground, Out for Justice..

Awesome.

The second Transformers movie got a lot of flack but I loved it. It doesn't take itself seriously, crap is blowing up everywhere, you see some sexy babes, and more crap blows up. Awesome.
