So I was checking eBay for any new cool Champ Bailey stuff(my favorite player since he got drafted in 1999), and found this:
Champ Bailey signed jersey (http://cgi.ebay.com/Champ-Bailey-Broncos-Signed-Jersey-Mounted-Memories-/220751634655?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3365d2a0df)

Thought cool, I've wanted to get a Champ signed jersey. A great price with less than 4 hours remaining. So I check the auction out, and thinking alright looks good.
Then I take a closer peek at the jersey and noticed something that pissed me off.

Absolutely NO logos of any kind, no Broncos lettering, NFL emblem, Bronco logo's, just 24 on the front and back and on the sleeves.

Never settle for anything but the best. This is a knock-off I bought a few years ago. I know it's a knock-off only because I was told it was. When you are actually holding it in your hands, you can't tell the difference. The Chinese spare no expense when it comes to the details and craftsmanship in stuff like this.

It was on eBay three or four years ago as "authentic" for $24.99. The funny thing was that they had one for every team. The jerseys were all the same, other than the colors and logos (on the right of the front of the jersey). I started a thread asking for opinions as to whether people thought it was real. Most people thought I was serious, which was fun for the whole family.

If you can not see and feel a difference between a true NFL authentic jersey and a knock off... including mitchell and ness, you deserve to be ripped off or you never owned a real jersey.

My brother bought a Cutler jersey for me in a bazaar in Kuwait a couple years ago, the coloring makes it look like a Bengals jersey.

Well, I hadn't thought of it till now, but with the labor situation I have no ethical problems with knockoffs. Hell the child slave and inmate labor may actually get some benefit from their exploitation.

You can tell the difference between the good knock offs (jersey101, etc) and the bad ones (the champ pic) but the authentic ones are very heavy compared to knock offs.

As for signed stuff, my rule of thumb is, if the deal seems TOO GOOD to be true, then it is.

If you're willing to pay $300 + for a NFL jersey then you deserve to get ripped off.

That jersey is so bad, it's badass. I'd rock that at a game.

The thread is not about how much someone spends, but the difference between knock offs and a real jersey. Some people just can not stay on topic. Nice story bro

I bought a knock off Rod Smith once, the only difference was the weight of the jersey compaired to the real thing.

I don't think that's all that uncommon. If the player is signing, say, 500 of them, it's much easier/less cumbersome for the player to sign the numbers, rather than the actual jersey (which would have to be refolded, repackaged, etc).

That said, I wonder if Champ Bailey had any idea his signature was going to end up on a generic jersey (with no Broncos logos) when he signed.

If you can't trust Ace Authenticated and their 9 feedback score, then who can you trust?
