Bronco sources confirm they do have interest in bringing back one of the players they cut. Don't count Justin Bannan out yet.

Nice signing. Vickerson showed some talent and may be a nice bargain. Glad he's back in the rotation.

Daniel Graham would be a great 2nd TE.

Outside of Denver...

Well, in the year the Panthers went to the Superbowl, the Panthers' Tight Ends were Kris Mangum, Mike Seidman and Michael Gaines. Graham would be great to stick around just so long as we don't rely on his abilities as a receiver at all, and if we have an even decent receiving TE ahead of him on the depth chart, then Fox won't rely on him. He'll be used for blocking in jumbo packages and on the bootleg.

If we resign Graham, I'll be pleased, so long as it's for cheap.

When he came in, the CU fans were ready to have his children when they were showering praise. He was supposed to be the best blocker this side of an industrial bulldozer with above average hands. I remember him for his drops and our running game has been terrible the last few years.

I can't say I watch him enough to really know his impact but the things I remember him for are all bad and he definitely underwhelmed me after all the great things I heard about him in the beginning.

I like this move! He adds size and depth. If they draft Dareus and maybe Austin the DT position will be set for years.

Even though he was wildly inconsistent, he was probably the only guy I saw who I thought had some talent.

Maybe Fox will help him get his act together.

Happy with this move, he made a few nice plays last year and is nimble enough for a guy his size.

Will be happy with him as part of the rotation at DT.

Now if we can only find another 4 or so DT's...

Hopefully two draftees and a couple of FA's, if we could resign Bannan and Thomas and draft Dareus/Fairley and then another DT in round 2 or 3 I'd be very happy.

Agreed, nice. With vickerson, Unrein,Dareus, and Austen or Taylor, and Ayers and Doom for speed, we should be set on the line for quite a while.
Now a stud Mlb and some safeties. I can start smiling again.:sunshine:

I hope this is a joke. The odds of a rookie DT coming in and having ANY real impact (or even seeing the field much) this year is very slim. So that leaves us with Vickerson and Vickerson alone this year. And then Vickerson and two untested 2nd year guys next year. Set for years? Not even close.

are we asking too much if we expect the 2nd overall pick in the draft to start at some point of their rookie season?

Starting isn't a big deal, playing and making difference as rookie DT is asking to much.

If Suh, or a DT with something remotely approaching his skill set, were available this year, he'd go #1 overall.

I love Dareus and Fairley... but that's simply not the case for them. They couldn't carry his jock.

OK, it GREAT we brought Vickerson back and we all better hope Bannen is in the mix too.....we need those vets to go with the young guys we are going to draft....badly!!

true, however its just an indication that a rookie DT can make an impact. obviously it wont be to that level, but expecting 3-4 sacks from a rookie DT and a few TFL isnt unreasonable, especially a guy is big and fast as dareus, who i imagine will be a better run stuffer than suh in his rookie year.

They certainly CAN, but the odds are waaaaay against it. But, more to the point, THIS is the statement that I was objecting to originally which seemed to spark this discussion about immediate impact, etc.:

If they draft Dareus and maybe Austin the DT position will be set for years.

If it was that easy to be "set" at the DT position for years, everyone would do it. Obviously, it's not even close to that easy.

Position has the highest bust rate in the NFL (even higher than QB) drafted at the top.

Broncos have been missing on this for awhile now, imo..
the first round is only for impact players, second round and beyond is for developmental players and with some luck, and impact player or two.
