AJ Hawk will probably be released because of his cap number, and Barnett is available, and after the injury might be had for bargain price.

I would love to get Hawk In Denver as our MLB so that DJ can play weak side where he is best suited.

another possible from Green Bay is Cullen Jenkins.

you can do worse than raid the closet of the current super bowl champs

Hawk can't play on passing downs, he's a young Andra Davis, no upside. We're changing to the 4-3 anyway, do these 3-4 guys really fit?

Both of those guy have played in the 4-3...and well. Hawk was a lombardi award winner in the 4-3 in college.

I would rather Nick Barnett. He is a more natural MLB.

I completely agree- maybe a bit longer in the tooth than I would like but we need help in the worst way at MLB.

And for all the Joe May's fans out there- there was a reason Philly traded him to us- he is just not a 4-3 MLB- pass coverage abilities are horrid. I for one loved his play last year as a 3-4 ILB at the Mike

He's lead the Packers in tackles since being there...

He's solid and he is NOT a 3-4 MLBer...

He should be playing in a 4-3.

Hasnt AJ Hawk started since he's been there? Yes, thats comparable to the one or two special teams tackles terry pierce had for us

I'd take either in a heartbeat. The thought of seeing Mays or Haggan starting D again is terrifying.

I didn't think Haggan was that bad last year and although Mays is suited far more to the 3-4 whenever he did play he played well. The main problem was the line last year and the lack of pass rush. The front 3 aside from Bannan were nobodies and played just like that.

agreed. he was a natural 4-3 MLB being played as a 3-4 ILB. similar to the way Denver keeps lining up DJ away from his natural spot as a Weakside LB

I have always thought that Hawk would be a VERY good MLB in a 4-3.

He is not a 3-4 MLB naturally.

He would be a huge upgrade for this team, fill a gap and allow us to focus on other positions in the draft.

I like Steven Tulloch and James Anderson better if we look at LB in free agency-- especially Tulloch, as MIKE is our biggest need. In regard to scheme fit, don't forget that both Hawk and Barnett have played the 43 in the pros, as Green Bay just switched to the 3-4 two years ago.

Agreed. Tulloch should be our top target in free agency

Hawk played WLB when the Packers had a 4-3, no?

Barnett would be interesting to me, he was a quality 4-3 MIKE before the Packers changed scheme. With no quality MLB prospects in the draft this year and nobody on the Broncos roster currently able to play the spot he could be just the sort of stop-gap solution we should be looking for at the spot.

Do you know if Anderson had a good working relationship with Fox?

Yep, and at Ohio State as well.

Do you know if Anderson had a good working relationship with Fox?

I can't speak to it specifically, but I've certainly never heard anything to the contrary, so I would assume they were okay.

ENGLEWOOD - Darius Watts might be working his way back into the Denver Broncos' good graces.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan singled out the third-year receiver for his play during camps the past few weeks. Shanahan rarely singles out players for good or bad practice performances.

"He really stood out," Shanahan said. "He showed a lot more confidence, he was very consistent catching the ball."

Another example of why you never listen to what coaches say hahaha
