The good ol' days, when men could be men and it didn't cost $50K to put a helmet into somebody's chest.

The regular season finale at L.A. in 1993 was one of the most painful games I've ever watched. We had that game easily won. It was 27-13 at the half and then Denver made it 30-13 and it just went to hell from there. Even at the end of the game, Elam had a chance to hit a 40 yard FG to win it but he missed it. As a result, we had to go back the next week and after another second half meltdown, got blown out in the wildcard round. Very frustrating.

We haven't had the team to contend even within our division.
Hopefully this year we will be taking a step in the right direction...

Remember that like it was yesterday.

Great idea, run onto the field in street clothes and fight guys with helmets on.

Didn't we turn around and play Oakland again in the wildcard round?

the following week. If the broncos had won this game they would have hosted the Raiders at Mile High for the playoff game.

I usta like Ratboy myself. It was 1988 in his 1st year as Raider HC & Denver had a 24-0 halftime lead. Oakland comes back to win the game 30-27 in OT. Wutta game!

Not sure what game it was but Bill Pickell hit Elway so hard one time I thought he might be dead. But nope he popped right back up.

The Raiders back then were super mean.

If anything it was those Raider teams, then the addition of Romo, that showed the Broncos you have to be a little bit nasty to win. When the Broncos shed the good boy image, started cutting people at the knees, spitting on people, and being a little bit mean themselves the finally won. :)

You might be on to something there. Last year, the Chiefs started yanking on opponents' testicles & they finally won the division. Now if a team spits, cuts down knees AND smashes testicles... they might get somewhere...
