Wait... Arizona got the WORST team in SB history when they only lost by 4 points (including the annual refs help Pitt calls)?!?!?!

that list is just stupid

They put Denver as worst vs SF

SF was clearly better team don't see how Denver was worst. SF would have killed everybody.

Yet Atl wasn't added against Den on the worst list

I'd at least put Den vs Wash SB in worst list over NYG

That list is straight up bad. Just the inclusion of a super bowl loser speaks for the top 10 list.

also the Panthers lost on a last second field goal to arguably one of the best Patriots teams

The '98 Broncos should be on the list. How many back-to-back champs win the first 13 games in their repeat year?

Bad list. '98 Broncos should have made it. How is the Pats Super Bowl team that lost the game better than their three teams that won it? Hell, if they're going to pull BS like that, they should have put the '98 Vikings on the list too.

And I'd say that the Cardinals were one of the worst Super Bowl teams ever, even though they lost a close game. They were 9-7 and got blown out a couple times late in the season. They just got hot at the right time.

There's no way in hell the 86 Broncos belong on that list

That list is full of fail.

The 1985 Pats were by far the worst SB team ever. They were a wildcard and if the Broncos could have beat either KFC or Oakland once that year they would have made it to the SB that year.

The Redskin team that was almost shutout vs Miami were patched together and had no business there.

The Cowboys with Morton were bad.

I agree about the 89 Broncos, they should be top 3.

I rewatched the Rams SB vs Pitt (SB XIV?) they were in that game until Brandshaw started throwing bombs. That was a very entertaining game until the 4th Quarter.

The Vikings should have made the bad list at least twice.
Buffalo at least twice.

98 Broncos should have been top 5 best, they repeated in dominant fashion.

I don't think it's Worst Superbowl performances, rather it's worst/best teams to ever play in the Superbowl, which is a pretty stupid idea for a list.

Part of what this list affirms is that John Elway is the best QB in league history. He took not 1, but 2 of the worst SB teams in history to the big game (where the lack of championship-caliber talent around him was exposed on the grandest stage). If anything, this list simply confirms what we've all known: Elway did more with less than any other QB in NFL history, and he did a lot of it.

stupid list. the whole reason that Namath is famous is because of SB III. even though the Colts lost, they were a juggernaut of a team and were expected to destroy the Jets. that's why it's still regarded as one of the biggest upsets ever. the Baltimore Colts from SB III would be on the list were it a valid list.

That was always my pre SB XXXII and XXXIII wins argument it is nice that he has the Back-to-back wins to prove to those who couldn't see it.

Agreed. The 86 Broncos led the Super Bowl at half time and should have had a bigger lead in that game if not for missed opportunities and field goals. In the regular season that year the Broncos also played the Giants a good game in NY (killed by a long interception for td by the giants right before the half, a potential 14 point swing, and still only lost by 3). That 86 defense still had some of the old 77 Orange Crush on it, too (Tom Jackson, Louis Wright, Steve Foley). If you were going to pick a Bronco team as one of the worst SB teams try the next year (Jackson, Wright and Foley were gone - the defense was worse) in addition to the 89 team listed.

The Colts were the worst team to win one that I've seen in my lifetime.

Hate to say it, but the Cowboys of the 90's were the best I've seen. They would have destroyed either team playing today.

Couldn't disagree more. The Bills were a complete team. IMO, they would have destroyed either team playing yesterday. They simply chose to have their run during a time when the NFL had some extremely talented teams, particularly the Cowboys.

You look at that Bills roster, and so many of those guys are in the record books on both sides of the ball. There's no way they're a top 10 worst team. Hell, they made it there 4 times in 4 years. That alone tells you something.

Anytime you lose a SB 57-17, I think you deserve some recognition as a bad SB team. And the fact that they had 4 tries in a row, and couldn't do it...that's futility right there.

They never lost the Super Bowl by that score.

They lost 52-17.

I think of the worst SB teams as flukes to be there. Buffalo is the only team to go to 4 straight SBs proving they were no fluke.

exactly. you dont get to the SB 4 times in a row if you are a fluke.

:Broncos:

They undermine their own argument for having 07 NE team ranked 10 best by reasoning the helmet catch as a fluke play. Well the Holmes catch was just as unlikely in 08 and ARI could just have easily won, especially with that great come from behind 4th Qtr. Same with 79 Rams who led going into the 4th Qtr, Bradshaw doesn't complete that bomb Stallworth to break the game open and change momentum LA would have had its first SB team 4 years before Dirty Al got his 3rd and last SB trophy for LA.
